  5. Thanks for bumping this @catlover. This is EXACTLY how I lost a 7 year quit once… the fallacy of thinking “My quit is solid so I can have just one.” Of course 1 became 2 became 20. 1 id too much and 1,000 is never enough. You simply cannot bargain with this addiction. NOPE!

  7. Quitting is rough but worth it. I switched from cigarettes to vaping for a while and grabbed a few gadgets from dank shop, just to have something to do with my hands. Not the same as smoking, but it kept the habit side manageable while ditching nicotine.

  8. This past 4th of July, there was a terrible flood along the Guadalupe River in Texas. It is a tragedy and the river name made me think of jwg's Guadalupe River post from years ago. I was just contacted by an old friend from the early days of my quit and she said the tragedy made me think of jwg's post as well. She requested a bonfire to be done in his memory which I thought was a great idea. Below is one of the most beautiful and sad quit posts around... And, in jwg's memory, I throw over 10 years of unsmoked cigarettes into the bonfire. Feel free to throw your unsmoked cigarettes in as well.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
