  7. Hi Alex, Welcome Aboard! I am very glad you have found our site, and you will find a ton of support here, from member advice to so much information on the dangers of smoking, and how to quit successfully. Quitting smoking is a journey that we all know is not an easy one, but it's definitely doable and so worth it in the end. We have quitters here from newbies, such as yourself, all the way up to 20+ years and everything in between. Our best advice for you in the beginning is to come on this site every day, if you can, and do the daily Nope pledge because it will keep you focused. If you ever find yourself where you feel you are going to give in and smoke, there is an SOS section. Since our members are from all over the world, there is usually someone around most of the time. To help you get your mind off of smoking there is a Games section too. The most popular game is Chicks and Sticks, go and check it out, it's a load of fun! Which I see you already found. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

  10. Sorry to hear you quit for virtually a whole month then smoked 2 cigs What was your reason for quitting in the first place because that's the reason that's most important to you, aside from the many other reasons quitting is the best way to go. Commit once again for that reason to never take another puff! Be very careful here because when you smoke just one or two, you awaken your addiction and you now must once again set your resolve to quit again. N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever) means everything to quitters. You simply can't quit & smoke at the same time. Choose wisely ... the future quality of your life may well depend on what you now decide to do!

  19. Keep off the Merry-Go-Round. Instead of always running to "try" to catch onto smobriety ... jump on instead, fully committed, and hang on tight NO MATTER WHAT. You CAN do it too. Commit/make a promise to yourself and then keep your focus ahead. No going back. Believe in yourself. I hope you reach your "Aha" moment.

  20. Sorry to hear that! Every time you quit and go back, you have to go through the horrible withdrawal symptoms. This is my second and last time quitting because I refuse to go through that hell again! Have you thought about using the nicotine patch? Some people on here have used it and have had success. Why don't you do some research on it, and see if it will be right for you.

  21. G’day NOPE .....Not One Puff Ever.... (replace Ever with Min,Hour, Day as required.) Well not tomorrow. Pledge is changed. None of this (replace Ever with min, hour day As required) Whats needed is to face up to EVER as in FOREVER! Yep and that means admitting to being an addict. Not for my me. For you. It’s your pledge not mine.

  22. I hope your resolve to quit & remain quit isvery strong this time @Pilgrim! You must know by now that cigs bring nothing good to you. I can assure you that quitting long term will bring all kinds of good to your life. All you need to do is put in the initial work to break free. It will be so worthwhile once you can truly envision yourself as a non-smoker!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
