  8. All I can say is that I am back after a short stint of insanity puffing on a few cigars. Stayed at my cabin through the holidays, which is normally my safe place but the hunting and fishing groups around my gazebo fire pit...... I succumbed to the thought well its only a cigar! Then of course well I already had one! But I am back in my straight mind, back to reality and back on the train. Little embarrassed but extremely happy to know I can post my NOPE!!!

Don't buy that pack @Kdad!!!! The change you need is to be clean again of smoking again. That's what's required. Do whatever you have to not to smoke again. It's right there in front of you for the taking. Don't listen to the nicodemon's lies 🙏
  10. Happy non smoking New Year to all.
  11. Happy New Year everyone!
  12. Been a bit since I lit up. New Year figure I could ……still not smoke. Bunch of Window lickers!!!!! keep marching.
  13. I must say ... I'm surprised you succumbed to the smokes again so soon after celebrating your Lido Deck Anniversary but I know it happens and I'm really happy to see you have come back to the train to take charge of your quit & your life again. The story could be a lot different had you decided to just carry on with the cigars. My Dad was a cigar man, smoked them throughout his life, until they killed him ☠️ Don't make the same mistake Stew 🙏
  14. In one of my quit attempts, I thought I could just have one. I also tried telling myself cigars were safer. I suppose it has helped me that I've more or less dropped everyone in my life who smokes. I'll still talk to them if I run into them, but I won't sit around with anyone while they're smoking. It has helped me to maintain the reality that all smoking is dangerous. Maybe make it a point to avoid it entirely, even if it means missing out on other stuff.
  15. I hate to hear about your relapse Stew but I am glad you are back at your quit. It took me several attempts too but quitting is worth it. You can do this Stew

Glad you’re staying strong @Kdad! This site’s ticker widget went away with a system upgrade sometime last year, so a lot of people are adding them from other sites - like the one Penguin mentioned. Watching Joel’s videos is a GREAT idea. What else are you doing to keep your mind off the cravings?

Are you talking about the one like at the bottom of my posts? As far as I know the site doesn't have the ability to host tickers, but you can build one at Ticker Factory for a "General Event," and put in whatever you like.

  27. NOPE & happy new year!
  28. Thank you! It seems like forever ago but I will always remember those early days. The key(s) for me were to hang tight to the main reason I wanted to quit and to commit to NOPE every day for the first year, then I added another year for good measure. And I know without a doubt, the folks on the Quit Train were instrumental to my success. Thank you all so very much.
  29. I haven't forgotten about exercising, but I also haven't been as diligent as I should be. Between the holidays and my busy schedule and whatnot, it's difficult for me to remember to take time to practice lifting. That said, I have carved out some time after Christmas to plan a whole regimen, with alarms and written reminders and whatnot to help me remember to exercise.
