April 25, 201412 yr Ladies I need to know from you have you suffered from PMS or Menopause and did your quit make it worse the reason I am asking is I have always suffered from bad PMS but since the quit I have been just Evil Doctors don`t have a clue on this stuff (in my opinion) I have also had a hysterectomy so the experts say I could go through Menopause early - (my mum was 38) I like to use the holistic approach and try not to take medicines or synthetic hormones - so I am trying to self diagnose but need some input Did your quit affect your hormones? Do you suffer from PMS and what do you take? Any advice on menopause? I appreciated that this is quite personal so if anyone would like to pm me that would be great thanks A friend sent me this and it pretty much sums it up LOL
April 25, 201412 yr I had my periods stop for 6 months Tracey and during that time nightly nightsweats. I had my bloods back , Tuesday, and there was nothing in the blood to indicate early menopause....so my end it is down to brain chemistry. Has the doctor offered to check your bloods? I do totally relate to how you feel Tracey, it is pants isn't it. Not pants that we no longer smoke but pants that we smoked has some of us readusting like this. Tracey mine sorted itself out, on the PMS score (although I had no periods) just after six months. Was left flat and fatigued next, which I'm now onto and sorting with running and Chimp Management ;)
April 25, 201412 yr It hit me hard last year. Not in menopause, but in perimenopause...on the road to the unknown and it sucks :-) I had a few symptoms but not all and I read up on the subject. The more I read the more confused I got..but two things were obvious. I didn't want to be on hormone patches or take estrogen and it affects woman differently. Every friend I talked to had a different approach, different symptoms and a different "cure".....but we all had one thing in common "we didn't like it". I found my "happy cream" a natural product with progesterone (more important than estrogen) I was skeptical at first but a believer after the second months. Look into the link I sent you.
April 25, 201412 yr Peri Menopause here and it does suck. The hot flashes are the worst but I don't notice them at night so much. I'm sitting in a meeting at work and then all of the sudden I am dripping in sweat. It's just gross. :( No idea's on how to make it better but if I run into something I'll let you know. My mood has stayed the same pretty much.
April 25, 201412 yr No menopause experience but badddd pms, evening primrose oil, omega 3 and vit d help me, funnily my pms is much better since I quit and periods are less painful and not as heavy. Love that pic lol Sorry not much advice x
April 25, 201412 yr I read about something called black cohosh a while back, it sounded pretty good, so maybe have a google. I never tried it because it turned out not to be menopause, causing my issues. Hope that helps some. x
April 25, 201412 yr Really quiet......La Bandita is apparently in peri-meno wotsit....so Ill be reading along...just so you know... You might save my life.....
April 25, 201412 yr Hi Tracey, I also had a partial hysterectomy last year. I never really had any severe issues with PMS, however if you asked my husband he may disagree. Right now, I am loving the in-between stage because I have no symptoms. I have a few hot flashes here and there but that is about it. I don't see a difference before and after my quit though. Sorry not much of a help. I hope it evens out soon for you.

April 25, 201412 yr As goes for PMS, there are a lot ladies that vouch for chaste berry :) To counter PMS, menopause, etc. What it does is simply help regulate your hormones. Also Lady's mantle tea and white nettles tea are good for these things :) Pick one and try to use daily. (My PMS is not any worse than it was before, it's there and I hate it. If only I would take my own advice and actually use any of these, but I'm forgetful and I can't get into the routine lol)
April 25, 201412 yr Author Really quiet......La Bandita is apparently in peri-meno wotsit....so Ill be reading along...just so you know... You might save my life..... Stu - I do feel for the partners I really do as they can go through hell as well and I am also grateful for mine being my sounding board and verbal punch bag ;) - but I hate being like it as I turn into my evil twin who is not the real Tracey at all and then comes the guilt :( so I do hope this thread will help you some way xxx
April 25, 201412 yr Author ladies please dont be offended that I havent liked your comments as - I appreciate and like your imput but I do not like that you are suffering problems :( xxx

April 27, 201412 yr Cures Almost Everything :) Love this. If I don't take 800 mg ibuprofen start to finish I'm in so much pain I can hardly walk. But if I take those pills, it's like nothing. No pain, nada.
April 28, 201412 yr I have a really long answer to this topic, but the short answer is I don't think my quit affects my girl stuff. Being a woman just plain on sucks several days a month. :)
April 30, 201412 yr I don't have much advice except when I feel myself getting depressed, pissy, mad etc etc etc due to hormones or anything in general I listen to music every chance I get. It really turns my thoughts around and takes my mind off of the irritating things. Plenty of rest at night helps too.
April 30, 201412 yr Author I am trying that St Johns Wort - its supposed to ease the symtoms of low mood and mild anxiety I will take for 6 weeks and see if there is an improvement :) PS normal Tracey is back for 3 weeks now lol
April 30, 201412 yr St. Johns Wort is a good one too, never tried it for those purposes, but since people swear by it when it comes to mood stuff.
April 30, 201412 yr Im past PMS and "the change"... cramps with the PMS were helped with heating pads on my back and my thighs (not tummy) and aspirin instead of other pain killers, for me, it seemed to help to thin things out (the flow) so i didn't cramp so bad (might want to see if you can mix that with st. johns wart tho)... as for the change and the hot flash's, i got those igloo type flexible blue ice packs - wraped in a cloth and put on my neck and wrist's to cool me down fast... and at night on my pillow... something about keeping my head cool (not cold mind you) at night helped A LOT with sleeping.... for the mood swings, Dark chocolate, not milk chocolate with caffeine of some kind with meals, don't let the blood sugar drop to far between meals, (that was a sure fire way for me to go off the deep - let my blood sugar get to low between meals, OMG!!) and take a vitamin B-12 supplement. never went to the dr, and hubby's still alive ;)
April 30, 201412 yr Hi Tracey, just read this today, I suffered for years and years and had the lining of my womb taken away as things were so bad, I'm now peri or whatever name they like to give it, think us girls got the raw end of the deal, I gladly take HRT im 48 my hot flushes have gone, my mood swings are not too bad but im also on anti-depressants which can affect my moods, there is alot of good herbal remedies but I think you have to watch that you don't mix some of them as they can affect you in other ways, I would speak to your GP mine has been amazing with me and very supportive, the one reason I am on HRT is because of oesteo osti OMG that bone thing that can happen so Doc reckons ill be on them for a good 5/6 years. xx
May 1, 201412 yr this thread is gross but its a chance to learn something.... I think pms is fake, an excuse to treat men bad, why are some women mean all the time? how can you tell when they are riding the white pony? how come sex doesn't cure pms, makes sense to me to use the parts some, like exercise.... what is the true length? why is it 28 days long some months and never comes others women don't make sense....
May 1, 201412 yr Bakon... Be careful my friend.. Women are powerful beings. Can you think of anything else that bleeds for days at a time and still lives?
