Two frucking mornings in a row now Tiki has bit a hole in my oxygen hose. Poor hubby was up at 4:30am and 5:00am respectively, finding and repairing it with tape. She was doing so good at not messing with it too. Now she'll have to be closed in her room all night so we can get some sleep....

What if you rub the hoses with a solution of Cayenne ?

I just spent $26.00 on some bitter spray deterant and sprayed it all over the hose but I think I wiped it off accidentally when I run my fingers down the line checking for kinks and bites. It's a 50 foot hose too! :(

Oh @Warbelian, that is a lot to handle. Do you have a trusted friend of relative you can talk to? If you go to church maybe someone there?

You can always vent here and maybe get some advice from us. Sometimes having an opinion from someone not emotionally involved can give you another perspective on it. ...

Hey Warbelian,

Well, don't smoke.  Smoking won't change anything at all.

Many people, including me, became parents accidentally.  It doesn't make you a bad parent it is just the way it is, sometimes.

Your missing father doesn't mean you will be like him.  You are not your father.  You are your own man.

You can be a brilliant, loving and caring parent if you choose to.  Children can bring out the very best in us.

Your life isn't over just because you have a baby with an ex on the way.

You can make your life good.  I know you can.  Children can help us grow up into responsible and happy adults.

I know you are in shock.  Be kind to yourself.  Let the dust settle a bit, you will find the right way.

You are young.  You have lots of time to follow your dreams.

Now you will have a little boy to share it with.

I thought I was heading to a normal year but  a lot has changed in such little time.

I changed jobs which the hours are from 3PM until 10PM, the job makes me go outside of my confort zone and makes me deal with confrontation, an area of my life I'm not used to, I hate it, but then again I'm paid to do it so I have to put the effort, even thought I have to deal with gang members who claim to be "delivery drivers".

This job currently is 1h and 30m away from me and I need to catch 3 trains to get there, I should have moved some time ago but due to doubts if  I wanted to stay there, I didn't risk it, however this winter has been really though as it's really cold there and with the working hours I have, I barely rest, so I'm most of the time sick. The company being a start-up logistics based, they're saving up on internal staff in order to get drivers to deliver, which makes me feel bad for taking time off, I know I shouldn't but my mental state is there.

4 days ago my ex brought me the news that she had given birth to a baby boy who she thinks it's mine, last year we were in a friends with benefits stage and I was in a worse position that I am today, drinking, drugs, just not caring, so... when it came to her, I didn't care either. Now this baby has come to this world and I'm not sure who he belongs to, for me to be sure I would have to travel back home and do some DNA tests which I will have to as aparently another person already tested negative.

All this is happening and it's just being a whole new level of responsebility that I wasn't ready for, I tried speaking with my dad but we never had a good relationship, so he just tells me to own my mistakes. I get his point but coming from him, a dad who I only met at 18, just pissed me off a lot.

I can't lie, I'm breaking apart and I've throught about many things that aren't positive for myself, but I also know that if he is mine, this life isn't about me anymore.

I've had such bad parenting and I still did my best to get out of that toxic enviornment, came to a country I hate and lived bitter eversince and now when I was starting to adjust myself to make it right for myself, then this happens.

I can't deal with all this by myself yet and I don't know who to reach out to get advice either.

G’day

It’s a bloke thing solving problems. We view everything as a problem to be solved.

But when we get a great stack of them at one time it’s like having a cloud of flys buzzing orotund your head. Strike at one and it just stirs the rest of them up. You can never believe you can win.

But you’ve got to play to your strengths. Your a bloke your not great at doing a lot of things at the same time .... so don’t.

You have the great ability to put all you strengths and focus on one thing at at time.

So do that.

Ignore the rest and get it done one piece at a time. Ignore the stupid buzzing of the mob of flys and you’ll succeed. You might be surprised that the most persistent turn out to be the least of your “problem”.

Hang in there.

That certainly is a lot, but the first thing you should do is to take the guesswork out of it.  Unless you plan to help raise this child no matter who the biological father is, you need to get a DNA test at the earliest possible opportunity (are you sure you can't have the test done where you are rather than travelling home?). The continued uncertainty of whether you are or are not a parent will drive you crazy and prevent you being able to deal with this head on and make plans for the future.  Best wishes to you, and remember that you can do this and do it well no matter what the outcome of the test is.

Jordan is absolutely on point.  Get the DNA test.  The speculation will drive you crazy.

Just received an alert from The City Of New Orleans announcing the first case of COVID-19.

We have three big music festivals coming up.  Will they be cancelled ?

Hope everybody out there stays well.  We are living in interesting times.

Oh dear sally.  I would think that is not a good place for it to be floating around.  Ohio just got three cases.  It is getting scary.

California got our first case last week and we declared a state of emergency! The scariest thing is being crazy enough to travel by any means except car right now!

Minimum 4 buses and two trains a day... 🤪....oh well, if it's Gunna happen it's Gunna happen.

They may end up closing the theme parks @Doreensfree.  Florida declared state of emergency.

I am kinda hoping NOLA cancels French Quarter Festival and the huge Jazz Festival

but, St. Patrick parades are rolling this weekend.

Scary time to travel anywhere but if you do get stranded here @Doreensfree my sister lives in Florida and is super fun so you can stay with her 😊

Or if you get lost and find yourself in Colorado, come visit!

Not to make light of a bad situation, but...

I just read a local news story advising people who ate at the Waffle House in Cherokee County, Georgia that they should get tested for the virus.  One of the workers there is infected.

Eating at a Waffle House has always been a risky proposition.  This was true long before the Corona virus hit.

I'm expecting anything .....one week to go...and so much can happen in that week ...

I just pray I don't get stranded in the USA ...in lock down .....

You can come stay with me Doreen! I already knew the importance of washing my hands - I was a school bus driver!

So we are getting reports down here that the US has banned all travel in from Europe except for the UK...😶

Personally this Arvo I'm not feeling too crash hot...achy joints, low grade temp, cold sweats, sore throat, nausea, headache.....watch this space...although cos my kidney is caining it's probs just a kidney infection and the sore throat is dehydration...and I got a pit pass to the GP tomorrow....won't be using that.
