My doctor recently recommended a CT scan of my lungs because of my smoking history (pack and a half a day for 40 years).  I got the results today....ALL NORMAL!  Hallelujah, and thanks for all the support!!

Congratulations! That is fabulous.

Although we have quit and sure there are improvements, we never will be never smokers.

So happy for the good news, Nancy!! Hooray!!

And thanks for the good reminder for us all… Ask your doctor about getting chest CTs for lung disease screening. For people over 50 with a history of heavy smoking, annual screening scans are free under most insurance plans in the US.

I agree. They're really an essential medical procedue for all us X-smokers. The idea being if there is anything worrying, at least you're catching it early. As with all cancers, by the time you start feeling symptoms, it's usually much more advanced meaning more difficut to treat.

I had my annual yesterday - results July 6th.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
