A Concussion...A Vent

Featured Replies

So, I have a concussion and it really bloody well sucks.  It hurts and makes me feel sick.  This thing can last for months?  I cannot go to the gym?  Can't eat...Can't sleep...My brain is foggy and I can't focus properly.  Zofran and Fioricet are both a joke.  Seriously?  I need this like I need a hole in the head.

What happened?  How did you get a concussion??

Oh my goodness, Colleen, I'm so sorry to hear this! Please listen to your doctors and take it easy for a couple of weeks. Concussions are nothing to fool with. If you find yourself going stir-crazy, come here to vent or laugh or cry. We're here for you.

Oh dear colleen thats no fun sorry to hear this :(

I fell...out of bed.  Don't laugh, it's true.  Hardwood floors.  I had a little wine and thought it was b/c it was on an empty stomach.  It's no long hangover, that's for sure.

You're right, Colleen, falling out of bed is no joke! My husband fell out of bed one time and hit his head on the bedside table. Ended up with a vicious headache and a (temporarily) detached retina. Consequently, we moved the bedside tables a couple of feet away from the bed. Talk about shutting the barn door!  :(

Anyway, everybody please check that there is no sharp-edged furniture next to your bed. Learn from Colleen's experience and my husband's experience.

Damn, Coleen.  Nothing to fool with.  Please take good care of yourself.

Oh hell Colleen. I hope that you get better soon.

Ouch! Take care....

Concussions are serious.

Maybe you need to start sleeping on the floor Ginger :P

What Chrysalis said makes sense.  What I believe happened is the corner of my eye hit the table and from there my body and cheek hit the floor.  When it happened, I went down hard enough to wake the house up.  They couldn't wake me up and thought I just had too much to drink.  When I finally woke up, it was obvious I had been sick in my sleep as well.  At first the alcohol factor made sense, but I only had one glass of wine.  Come to find out,, both of those things are common in a concussion. I hate not remembering.

take care of your self(((((((( colleen )))))))    get well soon

uh no lol  How about you try sleeping on the floor?  Test it out for me SharkBoy.  If it's comfy, let me know and I'll give it a shot :)

Jesus that's scary, take it easy, you were soo lucky you didn't lose your eye, soo painful, make sure you give your body time to heal,

Hope you get better soon xxx

Sorry Colleen... Feel better, soon!!

Take care of yourself, Colleen!  Hope you feel better soon!

Did you go to the dr or hospital? What are you supposed to do ? ......

I went to the ER, had a cat scan, no broken bones.  Supposed to have a follow up with my primary for a look and refill on meds.  I called them this morning and they haven't called me back.  Guess nothing much else can be done.  Wait.

Well if you can force your way into the dr tomorrow.
