It's going to be a tense few days, @jillar.  Beacon is in Miami and Diane R is in Palm Beach.

Plus, if it crosses the state and hits the gulf....well....it is going to be a tense week.

Hellkat's in Florida too 😞

I'm watching The Weather Channel now.  It looks like bad news for Florida but everyone from Louisiana to the Carolinas should be following this.  As of tonight's 5:00 update, there are paths in the spaghetti models showing Dorian heading both ways after a Florida landfall.  (Although I admit I think spaghetti models is a cool weather term)

Be safe everyone.

@jillar I hope this peters out but It's not looking good. Were as prepared as we can be and hopefully there will be no evacuations for J-ville. Hope your mom and sis stay safe!

Here's Levi Cowan's update

@hellkatbaby, glad you're prepared already. Hopefully you're far enough north that you'll miss the brunt of it. My mom and sis are the biggest laggers and will probably wait until the last minute to get prepared 😞

This doesn't look good, @jillar.  You must be very concerned.

Yea @Sazerac, I am. It's hard being so far away but hopefully it changes course. My mom won't evacuate because the last time she did she ended up falling and breaking a bone. At least her and my sis will be together since sis won't evacuate if mom doesn't

😞

Drove to Chattanooga this morning and saw a large convoy of utility trucks and ambulances on the interstate heading to Florida.  A scene like that brings the reality of the situation home.

Godspeed to the folks in the Sunshine State.

That storm is pretty tightly wound in the central part and the eye is very well defined now. That just formed today as it wasn't there yesterday. They still don't seem to know where it's gonna make landfall. It must be slow moving and I guess Floridians won't really know what's what for another couple of days? That would just ramp up everyone's anxiety for sure.

The track this morning is slightly more optimistic for Florida, not great for South Carolina. 113611_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.thumb.png.cf092e95c608621f16fb193541576e72.pngStill, the cone of uncertainty isn't cheering.
