No More Walk Of Shame

Featured Replies

I feel so chilled and relaxed here you know, that I can be my more dizzy Dora self.

I no longer have the shame hanging over me because I'm an ex vaper, so what if I'm an ex vaper? I'm free of smoking, vaping and nicotine so who cares....from the members here I get the feeling none of you will or do.

Just feels great that I come here an equal in the sense I had a habit that I overcame. Finding it so hard to explain to be honest but it's just so lovely so thanks for letting me join.

I put it here because it had mention of vaper and didn't want to assume it could go on the main board.

sharon you are an non smoker in and i dont care how anyone gets there the end result is what matters and you are indeed among friends here so i am glad you feel relaxed you have had a hell of a journey and you deserve to chill xx

Sharon. "My non-smoking-Northern-bird mate in Essex"

That's as nutty as a Springer spaniel....;)

Sharon you quit smoking, that is all that matters.  You are a smart cookie, you knew the difference between using them as a replacement and an NRT.  You used them as a tool, same as someone using a patch or gum.  We don't think of you as Sharon the ex-vapor, you are Sharon the ex-smoker  :)

I agree with the others, Sharon.  Look, my younger brother is a heavy smoker and he talks about quitting and never makes it more than a couple of hours.  He told me that he was using an e-cig to help him quit.  I encouraged him because if that was the catalyst that somehow got it through his thick skull that he can quit, so be it.

Unfortunately, he quit the e-cig and is still smoking.  He just doesn't want to quit more than we wants to smoke.  Simple as that.  If an e-cig would help him quit I would buy him one.  Whatever it takes to quit smoking, do it.  There is no shame in whatever method you choose to quit because the end result is the same as those who quit cold turkey and that is NOPE.  :)

Sharon all that matters is you are a beautiful non smoker, how you got there is totally irrelevant xxx

My 2 cents are....

You quit and you are awesome!

Seriously.

If my husband would quit w/ one, I'd totally take it!

I don't care how a person quits......if the end result is being smoke free, who am I to judge??

I'm glad to share this non-smoking journey with you. :)

(((((Sharon))))))   You my friend are a success story!  You quit smoking.  Nuff said. :)

That's exactly how I feel about my mum, she's been using an ecig for months and I'm just glad she isn't smoking cigarettes! :)

That's right.  Nuff said.  You quit.  You won.  You beat it head on.

Agreed 100%.  My hb quit using and e-cig.

I don't think it makes any difference at all which method we use ... however, I feel a little be stupid asking this ... but what do you mean by vaping ???

I tried the ecig as my last attempt to quit.  It worked for hubby and hit quit smoking regular cigs for like 6 months.  Then all the sudden just went back to smoking without ever having an explanation.  It did not work for me.  Made me cough really bad...ironic huh?

I vaped for about 5 months or so, attempting to replace the cigarettes with the ecigs. I think I might have been satisfied if I could have done that, too. But, I couldn't. I ended up using the ecigs plus smoking, so just added to my nicotine intake. Too, vaping is being regulated almost as badly as tobacco; few places will allow you to vape if smoking is also banned, so socially, ecigs weren't much better than smoking cigs. Turns out that the addiction is really an addiction; go figure. That's for me, anyway. I know people who have used ecigs as a replacement for smoking. They seem happy enough with it. I just couldn't. I don't like feeling "trapped" by having to use anything, when it comes right down to it.

Many a day I stopped myself buying 10 and smoking and vaping. Only reason I went all or nothing on the ciggy front is because it would have ended up all ciggy and no vaping. I had zero self control on the cigarette front.

I zero sparkles in my first three month, nada, it was crapsville with a capital V. That's what kept me going though, the fact is was so crap (I lost a stone in weight, couldn't even eat) I knew I would not ever be able to turn back as I would never put myself through that again. That's how I can say with 100% confidence I will never, ever, smoke ever again. Be like knowingly putting my hand in a deep fat fryer knowing full well what would happen to my hand...I mean why would I? My quit will haunt me forever and scared the living daylights out of me......between you and me I'm glad, now, that it was....no more romancing anything for me ;)

Sharon, congrats on being a non-smoker. I don't care either on how you got there- you got there and you should be proud, because we are of you.  Keep up the great work you are doing and I am so glad that you are here.
