  • ran outside 6 miles and walked 1 mile it was nice

  • I am in awe of all of you...but I am proud that after at least 15 years of total slugdom...after 3 1/2 weeks I am walking 1.6 miles in 30 minutes on my treadmill!!

Would you consider increasing the intensity or difficulty level of the push-ups since you're doing sets of 35+

One of my 6 fitness goals at the start of the year was to be able to do 40 standard pushups.  My peak this year was 43 so I hit that.  Now I just want to keep the ability to do 35.  Sometimes I just do standard pushups for a lot of volume, but I also throw in a lot of variations like:
spider man, diamond, close and wide grip, 1 leg off the ground, burpees, and elevated leg.  Heres a video of me just goofing around with pushups.

Good morning happy weekend!!

Long hard week of training- for today i'm headed out for a 2.5 hour bike ride followed by a 1 hour run.

Good news is after tomorrows long swim and run I have an easy week and a race next Sunday!

I have been diligent in following my routine of two 2 mile power walks daily, and have gradually been increasing my incline, which , in turn, increases my calorie burn. Incline is up to 5%, by the end of each session. I am also doing some work with the weight bar. Nothing crazy. I just want to shape and tone a bit. This morning I went an extra quarter mile, just because I knew I could. I remain proud of my drive and determination to improve my physical stamina, and just be healthier, in general. I am impressed with my 70 year old self. 😂😂

I did an extra half mile again, this evening, for a total of 5 miles today and even increased my incline again to 5.5% for the final 2 1/4 mi. Laps. Total calorie burn 675, about what I took in so far . I haven’t yet had my dinner.

I couldn't open the video but just wanted say I love push-ups - there are so many variations that it never gets old.

You've been doing some really great training.  All the best for the race.

due to tweeking my back ...

Sorry to hear that.  With the back, it may be better to take some time and let it heal properly.  How did you hurt it?

Katgirl, your workout discipline is very impressive.

I did an 8k run yesterday and did some leg workout today.  Had some distractions in life but hoping to make workout an essential activity of the day - even if it's a quick one.

Athletics is more mental than physical

Good thing im crazy

Katgirl I think you can relate anyone that chooses to hike uphill at your pace is nuts lol

After all the abuse these lungs are still working

Just bent down ...the wrong way ....It's alot better now ...done my fast paced mile today

Thank you for asking 😁

Mile swim- 25 mile bike- 6.2 mile run started my day off. Good times time

to drain a beer

Recovered for a few days- getting busy once again. Headed off for a 50 mile bike ride 🚴

Still doing two 2 mile sessions per day, uphill the whole time, on my treadmill. Lately, I’ve had some heel discomfort, which I think is related to the incline. Some minor plantar fasciitis, me thinks. So, I have added padding to the affected heel, and lowered the incline a bit. It hasn’t caused me to slow my speed or decrease my calorie burn. So, I am still going full steam ahead, and enjoying the  satisfaction of having a daily exercise routine. I could be a little more diligent with my weight work, which I tend to neglect, for some reason. Not sure what that’s about.

Good idea to mix up the routine once in a while- might help with the heel pain

I started a Nov100 pushups a day for 30 days challenge yesterday (any combination of sets).  So..., I did 100 pushups.  Also went on a 3mi walk.

Good swim and bike and a slow run but a decent finish.

I know my weakness and spent the last week working on run only.

Monday is the opening for registration to Ironman 70.3 Oceanside hoping to score a slot for the race 4/2/2022

Very envious.

100 pushups done. + 3.5mi walk, 15 kettle bell swings, 15 horizontal lat pulls, 30 situps

Going hiking in a few hours and hopefully the fall colors will be worth it.
