  1. A BIG deal!! Really, really BIG deal! Way to go JC...
  2. I get it...I understand the "I made it a day!...I made it 3 days!!...I MADE IT A WEEK :yahoo: !!! And I also understand your thoughts of "gotta keep going". Way to go Rooster, I'm happy for you.
  3. Thank you for coming back to post. It took courage and grace and I appreciate you doing this. Yea, in those trigger/crave moments, knowing the nicotine fix won't solve a problem but will for certain create multiple problems seems to help. Cuz it won't fix anything....it just won't....ever.
  4. SO Great!! Congrats on 2 years of good health and opportunities.
  5. TWO weeks!!!! Way to hang tight and stay the course!! Life is so much better without that constant nicotine pull, and that pull decreases with each day we put between ourselves and that last puff. Nice effort Evelyn.
  6. Hi Tracey, I'm doing ok and yep, doing my daily NOPEs. Thanks for asking.
  7. As a newbie, your replies are really encouraging to hear. Thanks.
  8. #1 is true. #3 is the lie, but I hope to do it one day. DD, it looks like you're up if you choose.
  9. I spent thousands of dollars to attend week long holistic yoga retreats three years in a row. After class, I'd walk off the property and hide behind palm trees or banana leaf plants and chain smoke. Then I'd go back and eat a vegan meal.... I lived and worked in Antarctica where average winter temps were -90 Deg F. I smoked outside all the time. All the smokers did.
  10. Why admit it when it's so easy to prove :P Congrats Mrs Sarge!! Sometimes hanging onto that apron string for just a little while turns a failed quit into a successful quit. Happy for you both!
  11. Welcome Rooster! I'm a newbie too and I found the info and support here to be invaluable to my staying the course. There is SO much information here so just dig in and start reading. At first, I had a hard time concentrating but I'd read and post when I could manage it. The NOPE commitment is important...seems awkward at first but you'll quickly learn its worth. Trust that you have the capacity to endure and conquer the rough spots. They can be strong but they're short lived...honest! Hang on tight to the reasons why you want to be a Non-Smoker...they will pull you through. You've got this Rooster!
  12. WOW! Congratulations. I can only imagine how much better you're feeling nowadays. Take time to celebrate your good health and remind yourself what it took to hang onto your quit!
  13. Kickin off the new year... 1. I've lived in Alaska for 25 years 2. I lived and worked at the South Pole, Antarctica. 3. I lived and worked on an Arctic ice breaker research vessel, we made trips onto the pack ice for data collection and very briefly, I stood at the Geographic North Pole. <and i smoked outside everywhere i went!! crazy)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
