  14. I did not want to get out of bed this morning! So tired. All I care about is sleeping in this weekend. :)

  19. It improves daily really, but it's very subtle. I can remember suddenly realizing that I had completed a whole task without thinking about it and it just grew from there. I do remember in the beginning feeling so overwhelmed with thoughts of smoking. I couldn't stop thinking about it and all I wanted was for everything to feel "normal" again. It will happen for you too. Until then, try to be patient and try activities to take your mind off it, like deep breathing or exercise. Those things helped me a lot. Along with posting here!!
  20. St. Thomas for me. Maybe because it's the only tropical location I've been to but I loved the warm blue sea. It was just awesome!!
  21. You can do it! You are the strongest person I know. xx
  22. It's ok, we don't fight like that here. I am in no way coming down on anyone for their choice in quit method. Just want everyone to be aware that that any method, if used long term, can be harmful when nicotine is involved. That said, if it helps you quit I say DO IT.
  23. Beautiful doggy! Nothing like a dogs love. :)
  24. I had an experience recently with electronic cigs that I wanted to share. My brother quit cigs a couple of years ago using an electronic cigarette. He still uses it, with nicotine. Puffs on it all the time. While running errands he called and asked me to pick him up some "juice" at a local vaping shop. I had never been to a vaping shop. When I walked in there was such a heavy "haze" in the room I could hardly see beyond a arms reach. It looked like cigarette smoke, but didn't smell like it. As I was standing at the cash register I nearly passed out. The room was spinning and my head felt funny. I paid and rushed to my car and sat there for a long while feeling as if I might be sick. It was several hours before I felt back to normal. This experience made me rethink how I feel about vaping. It should definitely be done outside in a well ventilated area. I think it a mistake to consider it "safe" as it made me sick being around one for just a few minutes. If you use one to quit smoking that's great, but I would worry for anyone using it as a replacement for cigarettes. Short term use only IMO. Just sharing what I was thinking, as it really scared me how badly I felt being exposed to that stuff!! I want to be sure my peeps using this method stay safe and wean off as soon as they can. I'm no expert and have no idea if vaping is "safer" than cigarettes but it clearly is not without harm of some sort. Surely no harm is good right? xo
  25. Good job riding that out. The early days can be so hard and the key is having a plan for weak moments. You did great posting here to protect your quit!! Deep breathing can help as well to calm you when that feeling starts to come over you. The monster will go to sleep if you don't feed it so hang on tight and talk to us when it gets hard. Proud of you!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
