  1. Congrats Kate18, First month is kinda the hardest
  2. @Sazerac No big issues here , Like REZ said , i think all the covid news was making me a bit mental I am never ever touching a cigarette no matter what happens , i don't even like cigarettes But i like something to chew , but i will find something else to chew Yup Anyway if you all are comfortable with cold turkey method , go the cold turkey way For me this 6 months plus quit is my 5th or 6th attempt Good luck all
  3. @Doreensfree I like the fluffy approach , that itself makes me comfortable in posting the stuff that comes to my mind . Internet is all about expressing oneself in my humble opinion @BAT Thanks , i am so depended on the work out thread here
  4. I will try some other gums as soon as the shops are open . Maybe i simply need something to chew , it doesn't have to be nicotine gums . Must look for sugar free and nicotine free gums .
  5. OK , maybe i the one who is ignorant this time and i might be over doing it even though i am only eating 2 gums a day which i find it hard to get rid off completely . I also admit my mistake of bringing up the subject of NRT gums . For some weird reason chewing a gum or 2 have become a habit of mine and i will cut that only bad habit of mine soon too . Our country is going through a 21 day lock down and even the medical shops are closed from yesterday . That makes it hard for me to get the gums . I will try to chew wrigley's gum instead . Sorry for the trouble
  6. I quit this forum , because some people do not like discussing about NRT gums . I do not feel comfortable here discussing NRT gums . You really don't know if i have a substance abuse
  7. Since this is a quit smoking discussion forum , i think i have the freedom to discuss about NRT gums too
  8. My priority was to stop smoking because it was damaging my lungs If few years ago someone recommended me gums i would not be smoking for this long I think smoking cigarettes is way more addictive than the addiction of a nicotine gum That is not all , chewing a gum or 2 does not damage your lungs . For me chewing 1 or 2 gums is not about addiction anymore , its something i do to kill the boredom . New smokers come here and look for ways to stop the addiction of cigarettes somehow and they are not told about the quicker way of stopping smoking addictions . I don't support people using both gums and cigarettes at the same time . That would even lead to nicotine poisoning . When you don't tell new smokers about NRT gums , all they do is just delay the quitting process . Gums are something that gave me results more than any other methods out there . Anyway the good thing still is i have not even seen a single cigarette in the past 6 plus months . All i am telling is that the NRT gums was very effective for me from staying away from inhaling the dangerous "smoke" I am not an agent of NRT gums either , i am just saying that these gums really helped me in quitting "smoking" .
  9. @notsmokinjo Anyway i will try to stop my 2 gums too Thanks for the popsicle idea . I will try that
  10. @notsmokinjo , I have diabetes , i love to reward myself with juices instead . i love mango juices every hour . But i can't have it to refresh myself . So that is another reason i use at least 2 sugar free NRT gums when i feel extremely bored Otherwise i would have drunk juices instead .
  11. This is what i have been trying to say . I see a lot of new chain smokers coming here looking for ways to stop "smoking " And no one is recommending any alternative methods to them . I would have still continued smoking if it was not for the gums . I used to take 9 gums a day in the initial days of quit and it was a huge relief . Nowadays i have reduced the gums to 2 . That is huge , compare that to smoking . Cold turkey method alone in the initial stages of quit is very hard for many beginners to this forum . One can always go cold turkey sometimes later in the quitting process . I thought i should post a thread like this . Thanks
  12. Everyone can't quit cold turkey !!!! Fact

  14. Keeping my mouth occupied with something is how i managed a 6 month quit too Otherwise it feels like simply staring into the computer screen It can get very boring that way
  15. Quitting cigarettes is easier than you think One day you decide to stop getting high by inhaling poison Its not that complicated .

  21. First few days you might feel like this monster , After that you will be in more control like the man in the pic It will also be a bit dull But that dullness is a bit normal in life
  22. Nicotine is poison , that poison is addictive . It will only do harm and nothing else . Think of something else other than cigarettes You can quit, millions of people have done it
  23. Few minutes warm up Few minutes running 40 pushups 40 squats that's it , i have to slowly build up stamina once again Got tired easily after that much The important thing is to keep doing it
  24. Took a long break from gym until today due to study related issues . I have again started working out . March 10 2020 ; Warm up 10 minutes 40 pushups 10 min run That's it this time . After that long break i was exhausted quickly within 20 minutes of working out at home But i must continue working out daily
  25. Last time i had alcohol i had cravings too , then it went away after 2 days . i was glad i did not inhale the nicotine poison please avoid the smoking thoughts , your health will benefit from it

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
