Love, Love Love reading your updates. I can imagine her smile when daddy walks in. Look out daddy, you have lost control of your pocketbook now!
  3. Linda it is crazy. It is the addiction. I actually smoked while I was doing radiation for breast cancer. Can we say I was killing myself while trying to save myself! I am so sorry about your friend.
  4. I have already packed my bags and I am ready to go!
  5. I have started the baking!

No! We always go out with the dogs and clean up right away. One of them just loves fudgecicles.

Linda, I promise you will get stronger every day. You are doing great. Breath deep and keep that wonderful quit going.
  9. I was fearful of dying and so ashamed of smoking. My husband and I had both worked hard supporting our family and I wanted to experience our dreams in retirement together. I am now hopeful that I do not experience the consequences of my addiction and can add some wonderful years to my life!
  10. Steven, our addiction chisels away at our self esteem and tries to make us believe we are unworthy of a smoke free life. Instead of giving in to this pattern of thinking, reach out for support. I am glad you are getting back to quitting. Know that you are stronger than your next crave. You can do this!
  11. jillar, I am due for a mammogram and decided to wait. I saw on the news that woman should wait at least four weeks after the vaccine to get their mammograms because it could cause swelling in the lymph nodes and give a false reading. Since I may be called any moment for the shot, I am just going to wait.
  12. Boy Mona, I would be mad too. My husband got called for jury duty but was able to get excused because he had knee replacement. I will cross my fingers that you don't have to go.
  13. Yes Rozuki. I am signed up at Walgreens, Drug Mart, Giant Eagle, University Hospitals and The Health Department. I was so excited that our age group was able to get it Feb. 8th. All these places said we would be contacted. We call every couple of days and they say they are behind and still doing the last group (70 yrs). Now they are talking about doing the teachers in our community. They may put our off. I just can't wait!
  14. We are in this age group which was suppose to start February 8th. We are signed up at 4 different places and still have not been called. They say they are behind on the 70 age group. I am so anxious to get stuck already. I want to finally feel there is going to be an end to all this.
  15. @Judi just keep concentrating on the positive. Your picture shows a beautiful confident woman. No matter how long you smoked, you have the power within you to quit. Look forward to enjoying the rest of your life free of the addiction.
  16. 🤪I thought my amount seemed so small. Yes, I don't want to burn my money. I am having so much fun spending it!
  17. The Judi you have known for 62 years is gone. That Judi was a smoker and you will no longer smoke. The Judi that will emerge at the end of your quit journey will be awesome. It is normal for your emotions to be all over the place. Your addiction is using every tool to get you to smoke again. Judy, I promise you will get stronger and these thoughts will become fewer. You have already made it this far, you can keep going. You've got this girl!
  18. Welcome Ace! Your post is an excellent example for all us quitters to pay attention and realize that we will work on our quits forever. I am so glad you have found your way back and am sure you have the strength to quit again. Stay close and call out if you need us. You've got this!

Well, it looks like your post is fine. Hang tough Judi. Looking at your ticker, you have made it through the tough month. Once you get the nicotine out of your system, it is a matter of redirecting the smoking thoughts. Try to stay as busy as your can and just tell yourself you are not going there. You can do this. You will become stronger every day!

You did not say you were dealing with depression, I was just suggesting it might be a possibility. You sound very discouraged and down. Maybe there is someone here that you really connect with and could private message back and force. I just hate to see you go it alone. Quitting for me was like peeling an onion. By posting my feelings, others gently guided me to look deep inside to the awesome and strong person I was.
  23. Thank goodness. Been needing some of that good ol' piggy humor!

Oh Linda, I think by leaving us, you are giving yourself permission to fail. Your depression may not just be connected to your smoking. You are dealing with a pandemic and isolation. Maybe you should see your physician about medication that may help balance that. I can guarantee that you will just sink deeper, if you fail. I am not ashamed to say that I have battled depression my entire life and quitting smoking was very difficult for me. I probably would not have made it through quitting if I hadn't found a doctor that prescribed the right medication. When you are down, you do not feel that you have the energy to do anything. What is great about the forum is that you are getting many different points of view. Take what is helpful and ignore the rest. We are trying to find the right words to help guide you through the tough spots. Linda, you have come so far. Don't make me come up there. I am right around the corner from you in Ohio. I have been looking for an excuse for a road trip. Hang in there! Keep telling yourself that "this too shall pass".
