Hello from Maine
Wow @Sazerac I just Googled that. Pretty pricey stuff. I am not a drinker - one time in my life I drank 3 long island ice teas. Never drank again. Jack you are doing great. Keep rocking that quit!

Linda Thomas is 5 months smoke free!
Thank you all so much. I am feeling quite emotional today. Starting a new year smoke free. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. You all have added so much to my quit. You all might accept the fact that you are stuck with me now. I am going to live a smoke free life and want to help others get there!

What smoking a month's worth of cigs looks like
What amazed me was how scary real the commercials against smoking became but how I would still ignore their message. I would sit there trying to ignore them, hoping my husband wasn't paying attention. Sometimes I would try to distract my husband's attention away from them. I was ashamed inside and scared that most likely that was going to be my reality but not strong enough to change things. I was addicted and had no idea how to change. I had tried so many different ways to quit and was unsuccessful. Somehow, I ended up finding this forum. What is it that is so different about this place? It is a place where no one looks down at you - they have all been there. You were not there physically but it felt as if you took my hands and guided me through. Smoking took my self esteem and power. You showed me it was still there and that I could get it back. ❤️

- Health and Fitness Resolutions
Well, I have gained 13 pounds since I quit smoking. It has gone right to the belly (a place it never seemed to collect before). I was already somewhat overweight when I started quitting. So....my husband and I have joined planet fitness. Now I just need the energy to drag my rear end there. I have been extremely tired over the past year. I am thinking it is all the emotional junk I have been dealing with my family. I am going to address that with my physician. My husband and I went out with our neighbors last night. We stopped at Planet Fitness on our way home. I tried the water wave massage chair and will admit it was a rather unique experience. Don't know whether I am just a dirty minded old lady or whether that is the experience you are suppose to get. Needless to say, I got to laughing so hard, I wet my pants. Promised myself that the chair was going to be my reward every time I work out!?- Sunday 30th December 2018
- Just put out last smoke
Great job K. First day is a big one. Now keep going forward and don't look back. You can do this!- Hello from Maine
Wow Jack. That is awesome for a second day. Each day you will get stronger. Keep hanging tough. You are doing great!- What Freedom Means to Me !!!
I had the same shame Doreen. I hid my smoking. Once I quit working, I just stayed home. I am free now to go out and live my life!- Saturday 29th December 2018
- Just put out last smoke
Welcome to the forum Kitano. Glad you lurked and decided to join. Good job quitting before the 1st of the year. Most would have used it as an excuse to smoke a few more days. This is a wonderful place for information and support. I had many failed attempts at quitting until I found this forum. Keep us posted and let us know how you are doing. We are here to help you on this journey.- I want to restart again , because i had to smoke one day !!!
I know. I was just being a ouchy today. A woman's prerogative. Then again, I seem to be getting a little more powerful with my quit?- I want to restart again , because i had to smoke one day !!!
I do feel the same @Sazerac. I would wake up many days over the years and say I wasn't going to smoke anymore but did not hold to it. Pledging with my friends and supporters was different. They believed in me more than I did and gave me the strength to not let them down!- My New Bitch
A real cutie. Now come the puppy training fun. It is such a good thing that they grab our hearts right away!- I want to restart again , because i had to smoke one day !!!
Nice try Bakon but Sgt quoted me and used the words bullshit and a lie to describe the pledge. I am a tad bit offended. - Health and Fitness Resolutions
