  1. What backgrounds do you mean?
  2. That's cool @Whispers
  3. @catlover it worked, the trick, I think, is that you have to click on the name when you see the names start coming up. That tags me vs just putting @jillar (I didn't click on the name on the second @ and as you see it's not highlighted so I won't see that I've been tagged)
  4. Awww, good call Linda I bet that is what she's talking about. I learned by accident when I saw Barry do it. So Doreen if you're wondering how to 'tag' someone just put @ and the user name, no space. Once you type a couple of letters the user names will start coming up and just click on the one you want tagged It's been there since I joined, and I thought I was the one not paying attention lol ?
  5. That's cool but I don't see a lot of people doing that do you? Or am I just not paying attention lol
  6. If that was the case wouldn't she just ask user names instead of fancy name thingamajigs? Or is she just messing with us to make us think we're missing out?
  7. Ironically the only fancy name thingamagig I'm seeing right now is Doreen's name in her signature lol. But I don't think she's talking about that......
  8. WHAT FANCY NAME THINGAMAJIGS?! I totally feel like I'm missing out lol
  9. Scroll up @c9jane29 and see what Nancy said to try. That did the trick for Doreen
  10. What name thingys?
  11. Congratulations Roopy, seven months quit is fantastic!
  12. Huge congratulations to you my life for getting done with the hardest month of all! Pamper yourself today because you've earned it
  13. Congratulations KT, you old pharte you! We'd love for you to check in and tell us how awesome one year of freedom has been for you
  14. Hi roopy, thanks for checking in So glad to see you're still smoke free, that's an awesome quit you have going
  15. Yea @Kdad those urges are strong in the beginning but they will get weaker with each passing day. I stayed close to home my first month or two and only ventured out when my never smoked hubby could go with me because I didn't trust myself! Another thing that helped me was knowing that I could smoke, I just chose not to!
  16. @WeegieWoman, you draw better than I do lol
  17. How are you doing kdad? You've got a few fellow newbies to buddy up with so since they haven't caved to a crave, you can't either!
  18. Happy Birthday MQ, thank you for this site. I hope you know how much it really does mean to us Have a great day!
  19. You are doing it kdad I'm so glad you're documenting this. I found that reading my past posts every month kept me from forgetting where I came from as well as how far I've come
  20. Welcome Sean, you really only have to WANT to quit MORE than you want to smoke. I thought of it as something I had outgrown like other things in life. I used to dirt bike ride, go on amusement park rides and smoke. Now I don't. Although I quit cold turkey more because I needed to than wanted to, some of us find using NRT's the way to go and have been very successful using them. Maybe this is something you want to look into? If not than you just need to toughen up and go through that first few days/weeks saying NOPE. You'll find that each time you don't give in you get stronger and the craves get weaker. I promise
  21. Congratulations on being done with the hardest month of all Mw, I hope you celebrate and do something special for yourself today!
  22. Congratulations on 3 months quit Tammy! Lunch and ice cream sounds like a great way to celebrate
  23. Hey if you're cooking it you can call it anything you want What do you call a bedroom with no bed in it?
  24. Because it's much more polite to stop and offer him a ride What happens to an 18 hour bra after 18 hours?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
