  13. You shouldn't be embarrassed to ask that at all MLMR. A lot of us have or had quit buddies our first year quit. I had several and since I don't have a smartphone I was at least able to text my quit buddy if I was away from home and internet. Quit buddies work and I highly recommend them

  19. Give it a try, a lot of us have used pens, straws etc. I liked my invisible one because I like looking stupid lol ?
  20. I used my air cigarette during my first months quit. Just pretended I was holding an actual cigarette in my hand and then went through the motions of "smoking" it. It really helped trick my mind into thinking it was getting the real thing when in fact your just taking nice clean deep breaths
  21. You're NOT going to smoke Dragon, trust yourself! You posted because you want this quit and you're doing great! I'm in California too so I know how stressful it is here with our fires but smoking is only going to put MORE smoke in the air! And we have enough of that already right?
  22. This is your motivation! You got this Christa and if you start to falter come on here and we'll help talk you through it
  23. I LOVE Queen, looking forward to your review
  24. Welcome Mr Hamilton Congrats on the new job and deciding to quit. You are very smart to quit at your age instead of when your health starts to suffer. So, first thing to help prepare for your quit is to NOT VAPE! You'll end up getting way more nicotine than by smoking and no one knows the long term effects of doing it. Next, stop smoking where you normally do like your car if you smoke in it. I always smoked in my garage so I quit smoking there about a month before I actually quit and helped me disassociate that area with smoking so that every time I walked in there I didn't instantly crave Dont use both patches and gum. Use one or the other and remember that you will at some point have to withdraw from that. You can do it and at your age im guessing you'll have a much easier time of quitting than someone who's smoked for decades.
  25. Welcome SecondChanceSailor and congratulations on almost 18 days quit. The first month is by far the hardest so just hang in there and keep saying NOPE. You're so smart to quit this young. I wish I had of. You'll find a lot of support here as well as tons of things to read to both educate yourself on this addiction and keep your mind off the misery. I'm glad you had a good day yesterday, it gives you a glimpse of the good days ahead. Congratulations on your baby girl and I thank you for your service

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
