  2. Isn't finger licking reserved for fried chicken?
  3. I could really go for a pineapple upside down cake right about now...

    Shall We Rhyme?

    Honed my skill
  5. A popsicle maybe?
  6. Isn't that an odd first pick though?
  7. @Kris, the badges and ranks are not forum specific. They are an update to the software that powers our site. Every forum powered by invision now has them. I know from experience that the more you participate the better your chance of success. So if the badges help get people to post or even sign up, that's that many more we can help quit right?
  8. Yep, that's exactly what it means
  9. What does that have to do with licking widows?
  10. @Katgirl, go to your profile and click on the badges. It will open a window that shows all the ranks and the badges you've earned so far
  11. Do you think anyone could?
  12. How long do they lick for?
  13. Do they brush their teeth first?
  14. Do the widows volunteer to be licked?
  15. So did you mean window and not widow also?
  16. Is that even possible?
  17. Even the bottom of a shoe?
  18. The badges are part of the invision update that took place recently. Our forum is powered by them. The ranks replace our old system of new member, community member etc. And the badges are to encourage participation. And we're having fun with them, trying to see who can get them all first lol. Moving to Q and A forum
  19. That's awesome Kate! The badges are part of the newest invision update. They're too encourage participation on the boards
  20. @Katgirl, that is great to hear!
  21. That would be something for your Dr to answer. Especially if you stress to him that you don't want to go backwards with the NRTs. Shame on him really....
  22. You have to go to your profile and you'll see them. Then if you click on them you'll see them all as well as your ranks
  23. Welcome Julia, Congratulations on quitting. Depression or anxiety is pretty normal in the first months of quitting so I'm surprised that your Dr would recommend a step backwards instead of giving you a temporary med to help until you're farther along with your quit. Reintroducing nicotine is only going to prolong the process, you'll still have to go through it in order to get past it. But were all proof that you can! Stick close and take a look around at our various forums. Lots of good information about our addiction here
  24. @Kris, sorry you're having trouble playing videos. Group therapy helps lots of people so hopefully you'll find it helpful too. I've never seen an in person quit smoking support group. And if that's the reason you're looking into it you may find it hard to find in your area too. Please remember that you smoked for 40 years! So to expect to be free of this addiction in your first month or few quit just isn't realistic. Especially if you're still using NRTs. We feel it takes a full year to get past most of the triggers a year can bring. And really no one knows better how to succeed then a group of former smokers who have right?! You can expect to feel uncomfortable and have pretty good craves at the minimum for the first month. My whole first year was hard, but doable because I listened to all those who came before me. I'm glad you're staying because I feel like you need us more then ever, we got your back girl!

    Damm virus

My California mom and dad went to Vegas last week to meet her sister and bro in law. All of them are in their 70's and fully vaccinated. Her bro in law ended up with Covid! He's obese and has other health issues that put him in the high risk group. Thankfully because he was vaccinated he doesn't have a severe case. Lots of coughing but his oxygen SATs are staying nice and high at 97. Be careful out there peeps, vaccinated or not, no one is 100% immune from this

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
