  6. Oh my fruckin god, let me bow at your feet and may I learn...going on the wall at work..."anger doesn't get me anywhere."...Goodluck with the little one at the GP.
  7. Ok..bit more detail now I'm out of the war zone (waiting room at hospital cas department)... I knew I could not quit without some help. So I used NRT gum. But the day u started gum, I stopped smoking. I gave myself 3 months of NRT and that was it. I knew my addiction had 3 faces, emotional/social, psychological and physical. I knew breaking the habbit/routine would be harder for me than kicking the drug. What I know now, is that the two were linked, but facing all the social and emotional things I did with the crutch of an NRT gum was instrumental in getting me through. Do I regret not going cold turkey...yes in some ways I do BUT I do honestly believe I wouldn't still be here now without the NRT. So once I decided to commit to my quit I had an exit strategy in place for the NRT...from the third day I pushed the envelope...first gum of the day, space between gums, spacing normal chewies in between NRT ones...then having 2 for each one NRT... Identify why you can't quit without an NRT and then you will know if it's suitable.
  8. It gets easier...the second trimester is pretty good...emotions improve (first trimester I cried for an hour over a toilet paper ad on the telly...and not delicate crying, no it was snotty sobby crying) and so does the fatigue...those first few months are shocking...I have never felt so tired in my life as I did first trimester.
  9. I used NRT...but never while smoking...I would push the time between gums out daily but never intermingled it with smokes.
  10. Well got to go home but had to deal with clingy 13yo and pretty smashed by fatigue...but here it us, early hours of Monday morning and I'm back in cas..just at the big hossy not the local one...cos the BP hit 207/119....I just want the headache to stop.
  11. Glad you are safe @forestgreen.
  12. So back in the day the band of the moment saw me partake in some argy bargy with one of the year twelve boys who refused to believe this was a cover and not even the best cover at that...but here in lies me issue, I scratched the surface and the covers were plentiful...chances are there is a version out there you love and I've missed but to quote that criminal who wore a garbage bin on his head...such is life. The original...Bob Dylan Cover 1... Cold Chisel (cos there's gotta be an Aussie) Cover 2 ... Pink Floyd ft Led Zeppelin Cover 3 ... Guns n Roses cover 4...Raign
  13. @Boo ...frickin' Pullin out a no wukkas is an a grade use of the vernacular..your education is nearly complete grasshopper. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. No news as yet and no drop in the BP. @Rozuki...get your alternator checked, if your battery isn't holding charge might be it. Hope doggo is on the mend. @Sazerac...love black rice, it's so nutty. Hoping they let me home tonight.
  14. Cas - casualty.. Battery on phone at 39% BP still way high Think it's a combo of thyroid and iron decency ...talking about an iron transfusion. BP keeps setting alarm off Last readings.. 192/144 O2 sat 99% Normal heart sounds Normal ECG Chest clear (how long did you smoke?, When did ya quit?, Really?) 😁 Pulse 72 No obvious reason for BP being so high, waiting on ultrasound to rule out DVT, and some other tests.
  15. So sitting in cas. Trying to reserve battery.
  16. Oh I chucked a sickie so when I went to the doctor for a certificate he checked me bp and it was 189/120... cardio graph was normal but doctor wants me to go to hospital to get checked. They are only going to do the same tests.

  20. Oops...my Bad, Peter and The Wolf narrated by Ustinov Where is the Green Sheep is an Aussie kids picture book. Other great classics are Wombat Stew, The Rainbow Serpant. .... omg and you have to have Ticki Ticki Tembo .... that is great. Mr. Archimedes Bath .... because its never too early for scientific principles. Animalia by Graeme Bass and all the other books...actually these are brilliant. Bamboozled... the kid thought this was about her and her Grandad.
  21. Where is the Green Sheep. Yes loved that as a kid @Sazerac... We had the one narrated by Peter Ustinov....better than the Bowie one.
  22. For some Aussie flavour...Possum Magic, Snuggle Pot & Cuddle Pie, the Big Wide Mouthed Frog, Blinky Bill, John Brown, Rose & the Midnight Cat.
