  4. -14 ... the stress nearly made me toss my quit one day I was almost in tears at work one day because "it was impossible" but then when we got the win (hmm who were my partners in crime, oh Green Meanie and Lord Slip n Slide) it was like angels sang from heaven and I was so determined to get to the other side of that numbers game.

  9. -8 ... Hi Andy... guess who has completed their 48hr detox... but shhh don't tell that other junky, he needs more time in my expert opinion. I so have control of this.
  10. Would it be naughty if I didn't?
  11. It would probably help his back if he had one. Do you think he would say yes, seeing as his big Just Say No talk was... "Oh I tried that marry-jo-annie stuff when I was younger, I didn't like it so you wont"?
  12. Welcome back Michelle. I'm almost half a year quit and I used NRT gum to get through the first 8-9 weeks. No one ever gave me flack for choosing this way to beat my demons (although in my paranoid mind they did but as someone likes to remind me I'm not a princess and it isn't really all about me). So, especially early on, just do it one day at a time, 24 hour goals. I'm not a first time quitter either so listen when I say, think about what you learnt from your last time and then forget it... don't worry about those old quits this is the sticky quit. Focus all your attention on this quit, nurture it because those old quits are gone and besides the lessons you learnt they don't deserve any more of your time or energy cos you need that for this time round, The way I see it you have to do what works for you and do it with pride, because you need to own it (your quit). You need to use patches to get through the crazy go for it, you want to chew gum, no problems as long as its all getting you to that finish line of being smoke and nicotine free you do it. I'll have ya back and so will everyone else.
  13. Do you think its cos of his ranga hair he is so volatile? (^^complete opposite to reality)
  14. Maybe he lives in jail and a soap on a rope is a safety concern? (course joking)
  15. Congratulations @Giveintowin for achieving your 7th month of freedom. Not only are you an awesome quitter who is showing us all how to fight those latent, crazy out of nowhere craves but you are also a solid presence on the boards support all of us weather its with our quits or just life in general. So make sure you do something special today to mark this milestone, you deserve some pampering. Well done mate.
  16. Gee don't hang me for me father's crimes.....maybe he likes the 70s best cos that's when he got me?
  17. Hours, often with multiple water top ups to maintain that temperature... have a read.... surprisingly it is one of the few places I easily fall to sleep... which doesn't work too well when you wake up underwater and this practice has seen the demise of many a good book. Bath: Cuppa or Wine while ya in there.
  18. minesweeper or solitaire or memory match... play on of these. memory match is good cos your brain is too focussed on the matches to crave.
  19. My dad asks for soap on a rope, is that a bad gift?
  20. Are you going to play freestyle or backstroke?
  21. Morning on this wonder POETS day to all my fellow NOPErs. Today, the American's give us Geek Pride Day, Wine Day and Tap Dancing Day... hmmm I wonder which one I will be celebrating??? Oh if you happen to notice that there are randoms getting about town carrying a towel its because it is also Towel Day... now unless your a geek you may not get this but it is a nod to Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, the most important thing that you need to remember in order to celebrate is DON’T PANIC; no matter what the day throws at you, draw comfort from the knowledge that you’re armed with your trusty towel. So in the towel like spirit of not panicking... lets all make that safest of daily pledges and: NOPE ... cos if that nicodemon comes near me today I'll just flick her wif me towel. Got my towel ready: Topic of the Day: The Naughties (2000s)
  22. OK... first there is the white chocolate ... now there is 10 Things I Hate About You... aka the taming of the shrew.... you sure your not my 12 yo daughter... we have to watch 10 things I hate about you every month at that special time... followed by Joyful Noise and then topped off with one of the Cinderella Story movies.....
  23. HOT HOT HOT.... must come out like a lobster... although I was having ice baths over summer so that I could catch at softball... all cold water and 3 bags of servo ice.... fricking mental. Bath: Bubbles or Radox

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
