  5. Heh, We are “DAY6” buddies… Oddly enough, DAY 6 was a very tough one for me. I did everything I could, pulled out all the stops. But I made it through, and I’m very proud I did. Do whatever you have to do to not smoke. The benefits are absolutely life-changing. Keep it up, you’ll see.

  10. Hey Katie, smoking a cigarette doesn’t make a tough day easier. It makes it worse. Don’t let your addiction lie to you.
  11. I remember DAY6 being the hardest of my early days. I think I took three showers, two naps and walked the dog several times. I literally had an argument with myself in the mirror, no kidding… It was brutal! But I also remember being amazed that I haven’t smoked in six days. You should start noticing the positive effects of quitting. Has your breathing improved yet? What about your sense of smell? Focus on the good and don’t romance a cigarette and you will be fine. Keep going! You got this! I swear to God, if I can do it, anyone can.
  12. Hi Doug. My bad for being late to the party. Something helpful to keep in mind is that most people are going through, or have gone through the exact same thing you are going through. I think most of us here, including me have anxiety issues. Smoking or not. It sucks! But, it is what it is. Since my quick I’ve had a few anxiety issues pop up. And like most addicts my mind would tell me a cigarette sure would help. I know better. I like to think that I am smarter than my addiction. It’s tough. No way around that. But I will tell you this, life is much better smoke-free. It will single-handedly be the most important thing you’ll ever do for yourself. I like to call nicotine the silent addiction. Because like most drugs nicotine does nothing for you. Doesn’t even give you a buzz LOL Cigarettes to do nothing for anyone. They only take away, they take away our money, our health and our time.

  16. The smell of smoke in the air doesn’t bother me. It’s odd. But the smell on her person stinks. That is the worst. We work conflicting schedules, so that may be a help. We only see each other a couple hours a day during the week.
  17. Hello Gabes. My wife still smokes. It stinks! No, I mean literally, it smells bad. She knows it, I let her know it. But I don’t give her a really hard time about continuing to smoke. I decided early on that this is MY Quit. I quit for me. Not her. My personal choice. If she chooses to continue to smoke then that is her choice. Welcome to quittrain

  19. Thank you MQ!! I seriously don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have this forum to check in every day.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
