  2. Hello and Welcome Bignon! Congratulations on deciding to take back your life and be free from this addiction! As others have already mentioned, there is 1 simple rule to being successful at this - just N.O.P.E. each day. Take things 1 day at a time or even 1 hour at a time in these early days and you will soon be free and looking back wondering why you didn't do it sooner. Read all you can on this board about this addiction, what it really is and how it will try and lure you back. Education about this horrible addiction and the support you will get here from other NON - SMOKERS will be a huge help. Also, participate here all you can. That will help you stay focused on the task at hand. Look forward to seeing you around

  4. Great news Berk! Yes, this Saturday Feb 10th you'll be officially 1 Month Quit and that is a really notable milestone. The first month or so is the toughest part. Things do get better and easier as you move forward. It just happens really slowly. Keep up the great work and be sure to check the celebrations page on Feb. 10th

  11. OK so I'm really late to this conversation but am interested to know if we backed away from the ledge or jumped? Hopefully the former? Please check back in and let us know. We have a lot of information and support around this place that will help you along if you are serious about quitting. That would all apply to both of you by the way.

  23. JB - you are experiencing a hard time almost 4 months into your quit and we get that but, this is not necessarily what all will experience. Personally, I struggled mightily for the first 4-6 weeks before things began to settle down some for me. I had a huge challenge for a few days about 2 - 2.5 months in and since then, just maintenance and using the tools I had already developed in the early part of my quit to battle the cravings or urges to smoke that came along after that. Those who read and do their research will understand this as ALL quits are different in terms of what one experiences. Even the same person who quits multiple times will experience different issues at different times of their quits.

  25. This time of year, especially with the winter we've had this year, we all deserve to have a little party and over indulge for at least one evening

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
