  3. Welcome to Quit Train MWP! You're right. Joining a forum like this for support is a great help. No one knows quitting like other quitters! I don't have any experience with vaping but I know you can adjust the nicotine content so not sure what you were using there but in the end, nicotine addiction is the same no matter what the delivery device. There's a wealth of information here along with a whole library of videos addressing every aspect of nicotine addiction and quitting. Knowledge is power! You'll also have a ton of non-judgmental support here

  19. In the early days for me, there were more tough days than better days (probably the first 4-6 weeks for me). There were up and down days from there on but the up days started to outnumber the down days as time passed. It all happens so slowly it's hard to discern exactly when it gets better more than not. My point is, if you hang in there for the long run (as you say Gus; making up your mind that you're done with smoking) then it will just happen for you at some point. I was reasonably comfortable with the whole quit thing after 6 weeks or so but it was probably 7 months before I really knew that I was done for good with cigarettes. That's when I started to look with pity rather than envy at others who were smoking. That's when I knew I'd really turned the corner for good. My brain finally got it .... cigarettes were my enemy - not my friend!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
