Keep learning about nicotine addiction, knowledge will explain much of what you are going through and don't forget we are here to support you. Don't be such a stranger.

Lots of physical things to get involved in that will help you sleep and get your endorphins pumping. Take your dogs out for more fun. Start a new hobby, it is a big world out there....go exploring your interests !

  6. We are so lucky to have you on the planet and have you helping us here on QTrain, Chris. Hope you are mending well and savoring each and every day. The sooner people quit smoking the less risk they will have of stroke, heart disease, and a plethora of other, sometimes fatal, health issues. Life is too precious to smoke it all away. S You know, I may still die of a smoking related illness but, the quality of my life has vastly improved with being smoke/nicotine free The quality of my death is something I think about and I will not be tortured by feeding the addiction or be in withdrawals. I will die a free person.

  9. The withdrawal symptoms may be uncomfortable but, they are survivable. Each crave and trigger you conquer deserves a reward so, think of nice things to pamper yourself with.
  10. You can get through this. You can ! Take beautiful clean clear breaths, drink some cold water. Take a brisk walk (move a muscle/change a thought) Remember you quit smoking and believe in that power that you have. Stay with us. Read, read, read.

  18. I often think of new posters who come here with great intentions and disappear quickly. They may feel a bit of awkwardness in coming back here and I want to alleviate any discomfort they may feel. We don't care about your previous attempts, we care about you quitting. We want to see you build a successful quit NOW. Nicotine addiction can be put to sleep and you can enjoy better health both physically and mentally. Please, don't hesitate. Don't leave quitting smoking until it is too late for you and for your family.

  22. I am so sorry you are feeling such anxiety, @Old Man Coffee Nicotine often hides other medical issues we have so, do not hesitate to consult a health professional with your concerns. Also, caffeine is known to stimulate anxiety and here is a post from our friend, Joel Spitzer, about Possible Changes In Caffeine Tolerance Due to BP issues, I decided to quit caffeine too a year, or so, ago. The withdrawals were physically difficult and I don't recommend cold turkey but, I am really glad to be rid of that addiction too. If you ever think about quitting caffeine, you may find this thread helpful. Caffeine Withdrawal On the bright side, I am so glad you are appreciating and enjoying your Freedom. You will see many more benefits manifesting as the months/years pass. Thank you for sharing your quit with all of us. Your experiences and successes are sure to inspire.
