  1. Maybe one of the 2014 Summer Quitters can get their group off the ground??
  2. I prefer to exercise in the morning, your metabolism will be running full speed all day if you go early.
  3. Went to Gym #1, did upright rows, seated pulley rows, triceps extensions, and chest press. Couldn't run, still trying to heal my knee. Funny thing is, I have no problem spinning, but walking and running hurts.

  9. WTG Tom! Aside from not smoking, the next best thing you can do is stick to this board as often as possible. Do not hesitate to post about a rough time, even if it seems trivial. Best to nip it in the bud. A lot of us have had success in changing our routine and other habits. For example, if you associate coffee with smoking, you might want to cut back or drink it while reading the QT instead of smoking. I'm not sure if you exercise regularly or not, but it helps tremendously with a lot of the withdrawal symptoms and jitters. If you look around the forum, you'll notice hardly exercised before quitting. What was just something to waste time and calm us, turned into a very healthy habit, sometimes obsession lol. Stay strong and remember each crave you face down, makes you stronger. Before long, you will barely notice them, more like a thought than a crave.
  10. I like this KT tape stuff :)

  17. Gym # 1, upright rows and lat pull downs, then 55 minutes spin :)
  18. Welcome Vic :) Best way to quit is with a network of support. I never would have quit without it. I am glad that you are quitting now and not 10 years down the road with a diagnosis of COPD, like me. The sooner the better. Spend time reading all the forums on the QT, lots of helpful information and inspiration to be had. Familiarize yourself with the SOS board, very important. Social board, lots of distractions there. Again, Welcome :)
  19. Happy Birthday Paul! Hope it's your best yet! Now off to the counting game to celebrate, you go....

    Looks great Trish!
  21. OMG, the Bandit needs to tell us...do these really exist in bars? Do they sell covers so those that wear the shorter kilts, their legs don't stick to the surface??

  23. Went to see my allergist today for an allergy issue, but the breathing test is always done. The nurse who administered it, said: "Every time you take the test, your results are better every time". Goes to show you how the benefits keep on coming. Okay, so I might never have cute lungs again, but they are so much better than I ever imagined they could be. So, to all you lurkers thinking about quitting with a diagnosis of COPD or some other lung disease it can get better and it will...your life is not over.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
