  1. I've been lifting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and running on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Went down to Three Gorges this morning and ran 8 miles to Deep Creek and back. Trail running gives me a chance to get out in the woods all by myself and I built my own personal gym at home as I never enjoyed working out at commercial clubs. With this virus scare, I'm truly grateful that I always enjoyed exercising by myself.

Spring has sprung. Felt like a Spring day here on the Cumberland Plateau. Temperatures reached the mid-70s. Had a light shower this morning and a nice breeze blowing most of the day. The ladybug situation is a bit ridiculous around here, but I'm not complaining. Good times.
  3. The choice is yours. You are in control. Cigarettes have as much or as little power as you give them. There's no need for hoping and wishing. The power to quit is entirely within your control. That's addiction for you. Break the cycle and set yourself free.
  4. Back in the day, I would head over to Durty Nelly's on the North Shore of Chattanooga and get drunk as a five-eyed owl on St. Patrick's Day. Now, there's a Walgreen's where the pub used to be and I don't drink anymore. I'll be home for the evening...healthy green juice for everybody!

    Don't mind me...
  6. Congratulations Darcy.
  7. Score! A friend of mine found several bottles of the Knudsen Family brand "Just Blueberry" juice at a store in Hixson. I offered to pay for them, but he said it was a gift. When your pregnant wife is craving blueberry juice, you do what you have to do to score the juice.
  8. I was listening to the Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee last night and heard this one for the first time in a long time...
  9. I can only imagine what they are doing to Daisy. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "spit roasted duck."
  10. Stockpiling should be done over time and viewed as a precautionary measure. If you wait until the shit hits the fan and become a part of the madding crowd, that's panic buying.
  11. I don't have enough proof to accuse anyone. That being said, I can't help but wonder if Doreen has a credible alibi.
  12. Taking the blinders off. Facing some hard truths. Replacing delusion with reality. These things can be difficult but they are necessary for any meaningful progress to be made. The process of quitting is an exercise in self examination; some things we kept buried come right to the surface.
  13. Otis and the Muscle Shoals players jamming at Fame Recording Studios...
  14. Congratulations all around Sunshine. You get two thumbs up...
  15. That is the entire essence of quitting smoking right there. You're doing great Ace. Keep it up.
  16. It's been too long since I posted any Otis Redding here. There's a simple fix for that...
  17. Hey...speaking of wiping your ass with dollar bills (how's that for a segue?), who here wants to hear Boo's theories about the Federal Reserve? Anybody? You in the back? Okay, maybe later.
  18. Congratulations Marti. You were a pivotal figure in many a quit here. And we all added a few words to our vocabulary reading your posts. Thumbs up for Smarty Pants.
  19. Congratulations QueenB. You built a rock-solid quit for yourself and have provided great support for others here on the Quit Train...Great job!
  20. Great job Angeleek. Good news: the benefits of quitting continue to accumulate with time. Celebrate every win.
  21. Having the last laugh. I heard the whispers. The dismissive giggling at my expense. What is Boo's deal? Is he one of those crazy survivalists? I heard he goes down to Costco every month and fills his truck up with supplies. Even heard a so-called friend say: "It's just a matter of time before Boo ends up in a bunker with a shotgun and a shit-load of canned foods." Now the virus scare is in full effect and I'm hearing reports of shortages and outages of basic essentials. Meanwhile, me and Sugar Britches are busy taking inventory here at the Casa de Boo. I may be crazy, but there's method to my madness.
  22. Congratulations Irene. Putting that first week behind you is a major milestone.
  23. The Quit Train does have a laid back vibe. We do joke around a lot in here. That being said, we can also be serious. One of the great strengths of this place is that it gives a forum to express whatever is on your mind. If you feel more content reading and watching videos right now, do that. I think you'll find what you're looking for here. If you feel like venting a bit of frustration, let it rip. We've had some epic rants here in the past. You're among friends here. Everybody's experience here is different, make it your own.
