  5. Getting bad news at the doctor's office is the big fear of every smoker. What's rarely thought about by smokers, it goes practically unnoticed, is the general malaise that is part and parcel of being a smoker. Long before any terminal prognosis, the effects of poisoning yourself intermittently all-day everyday takes a toll on your general well being. I didn't have any serious health concerns when I quit. "I feel pretty good...for now." What I wasn't seeing was the potential to feel much better. I didn't really feel good when I was smoking, I just felt normal. Normal for a smoker. It wasn't until I quit that I really began to feel truly good again. It's one thing to tiptoe through without stepping on any landmines for one more day. It's an altogether different experience to actually achieve your physical and mental potential.

  7. You get enough repetitions under your belt and eventually not smoking feels as normal as smoking once did. With time, patience, and persistence the process becomes instinctive.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
