  1. Sarah, I gotta say, I think your picture is very nice and you are quite beautiful, and you look and sound like a lot of fun to be around! I am looking forward to getting to know so many people here better. I love zany people.
  2. Hello Atomik Ktteh! I don't recall connecting with you on the other sight, but Welcome to QT! So glad to have new friends. I do use my e-cig with juice, but no nicotine.
  3. What is the most fun you've ever had? And what was it and where?
  4. Today I want to start my day with some things that I am very grateful for: 1. My Faith in God 2. My Family; I have such a loving husband, two beautiful daughters, two faithful fur babies (Tinker and Belle), my Dad, my Sisters, My Nieces, Nephews, Great Niece and Great Nephew, Brother-in-Law too! My wonderfully dearly departed Mom (who I miss so very much every single second of every single day). 3. My Job and my boss. 4. My friends 5. The new found strength I have found in myself. Without all of the above, I would never have been able to put down the cigarettes and get on with my life as a non-smoker. I still have far to go, but I have faith that all of the above will keep me on the track to better health, longer life, and a lifetime of joy. Thank you to all who contribute to my quit.
  5. QG, I saw him drinking his coffee in the restaurant!!! I just love Stephen King. Have been a huge "constant reader" for many years now. I always look forward to his next story to tell. He has such a warped, dark mind and there have been many a night I've slept with the light on because his books have scared the beejeezies outta me! Last nights Under The Dome was intriguing. I wonder how long they can continue this show? Perhaps just to Season 2, or perhaps a Season 3? All I know is when 10PM hits on Monday night, I am glued to the set!
  6. Great news Chrys! You get like 200 likes a day here...maybe more! I don't think any sand traps exist here, and if they do, they are dealt with quickly and efficiently. I like that!
  7. I totally understand and relate to how you feel right now. If you feel you must smoke those last 6 cigarettes, then do it and be done! You must wrap your mind around being a non-smoker. It isn't always easy to put down something that you have depended on for so long, but I'm here to tell you it is possible and you can do it. Those first three days are going to be hell. You will go through the nicotine withdrawal, but the amazing part of it is the nicotine is out of your system after the 3rd day. The rest is really just psychological warfare and changing your behaviors. I would suggest having something to keep your hands and mind occupied during the next several days. Perhaps get a puzzle to put together, or build something, or clean out a closet, or the garage, or the basement, or the attic. Anything to keep you busy. My house is slowly but surely being purged of unwanted stuff and things I just don't need. Oh, and the organizing that is going on is amazing! Now when I need to find something, I can pretty much go right to it instead of searching and pulling everything out. And, the most important part, stick close to the board. Someone is always here to help you through a difficult time. I have been smoke free for almost three months. I've never gone that long, and to be honest, with the exception of a crave here or there, I don't miss it at all. Good luck, and remember, we are all here to support you. You CAN do this. You are stronger than those sticks.
  8. Doreensfree, tea and bicky's? Love it. Marti, I am preparing a room in my house right now to be used for a dressing room, but also to be used as a meditation room. It should be done this week. I was planning on doing some of the beginner's stuff from youtube, so as soon as I begin, I will report back to you on how it is helping me. I have different moods as to what music I'm in the mood for. If I'm feeling my rock roots, I usually listen to some classic rock. If I'm feeling stressed, I usually listen to easy or light jazz. If I'm feeling sentimental, I'll pull out all my old favorites that have some meaning behind them. But, I also like meditation type music, so I'm going to go for it. I need to allow my body time to destress and stop feeling so tense all the time.
  9. Wonderful Lace. So glad you chose to open up to family and close friends about how you were feeling. Trust me, even though we feel like we are being blown off, these people really do care about us and what happens to us. I have said before, and I'll say it again, I so envy those people who never ever tried or were lured in to smoking. They are the lucky ones. They have no idea what this is like. Congrats to you. And we will always be here for you.
  10. Tracey, gotta admit you had me a bit frightened there. So glad that you allowed the voice of reason to interfere with how you were feeling at that moment. Nice to know that you did that even in a drunken state!!! Kudos my dear, kudos. I have not gone so far as to buy a pack of cigarettes, but there has been a few times that I thought "you can't do this...". But, then that voice of reason pops up and says "yes you can! You have been doing it everyday for almost three months now. You can get through this crave and all will be fine." It is kind of scary though when that feeling of doom and defeat hit you. But, learning to just not give in to it becomes a positive, re-enforcing feeling that leaves you with a sunshiny glow. And, a plus, you don't smell like an old ashtray! Keep going Tracey. You did great. Just shows you can beat this.
  11. Welcome Chrys. Glad to see you here! This place is so open-minded, and I have found a place where I can now sit back and feel relaxed and comfortable. Don't see so much animosity here. I like that. Hope it works for you too. I know you like to "think outside the box" as do I. I believe many here will help you along this journey. I have found great support here.
  12. Thanks MQ....I absolutely love Neil Diamond. Great voice for a great man.
  13. This weekend is turning out to be quite lovely. Spent time with my sister, niece, daughters, great nephew and great niece Saturday. Was a lovely day to be with family. This Sunday (today) I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the beautiful sunshine, the low humidity, and the sound of dogs barking and children laughing in the neighborhood. This is what living is all about! Now, I need to get back to cleaning my abode so I can relax the rest of the day. Good day to all of you here at QT! Feeling strong and empowered without a nasty cigarette ruining my day.
  14. Hey, I'm a virgo too!
  15. I'm not a huge mint lover, so perhaps that is why I didn't like the peppermint tea. My most favorite teas are the fruit flavored ones. Especially when I'm sick; gotta have a cup of tea. Just the idea of a cup of tea when you are sick seems to make you feel a bit better. :)
  16. Absolutely love Under The Dome!!! The book was fantastic. The show is doing pretty good too. I am a huge Stephen King fan, and he does appear somewhere in every one of his movies!!!
  17. Oh, and just as a side note, I read that many people who want to stop drinking coffee will begin using Dandelion Root tea. Supposedly it has a flavor similar to coffee. I bought some but haven't tried it yet. I do take Dandelion Root capsules to help with diabetes, but haven't done the tea yet.
  18. Being an American, I myself have a love affair with coffee. I have had to cut my intake of caffeine since I quit smoking, but still drinking it nonetheless. I do, however, fancy a cup of tea when the weather turns chilly or cold. I do like the fruit flavored teas; I love Oolong Tea (Chinese), and I haven't really done the whole green tea thing. One of my favorite teas was always Bigelow's Constant Comment, which is a mix of Orange and Black Tea. Very yummy. Peppermint tea yuk. I tried peppermint tea when I was having great difficulty with my digestion a while back. Couldn't stomach it. Peppermint is said to calm down tremors or spasms in the digestive system. If I could get it past my tastebuds, no problem. It was way too strong for me. Ginger tea is good too, but again have to watch the strength at which you are making it. A little honey or lemon in there doesn't hurt. I also mix my regular caffeine coffee with decaf coffee. About a 25/75 percent ratio. Still gives me that little bit of caffeine my body craves, but doesn't send me bouncing. :)
  19. Sorry jimmy; can't help you there. I have no idea which key is cmd key? I would guess it stands for command?
  20. I just go to youtube and hook my computer up to my TV with a HDMI cable. It works really well. I'll go to youtube and find some that I can possibly do, then I'll just add to my favorites and save.
  21. Well Joe, I would suspect that it has something to do with that whole "getting older" thing. I drank coffee like a fiend for many years. I just can't anymore. I have to listen to what my body is telling me, and it was telling me it was time to cut the caffeine. I never experienced issues with anxiety growing up, but I hit my 40's and it was like a bomb went off in my body. So many issues with anxiety, weight, hormonal imbalance, stomach and intestinal issues. It was like can I just turn around and go back to my 30's? But we do what we have to in order to keep our homeostasis right?
  22. I love to sing in the car too! I love that I don't cough like I'm dying when I laugh really hard.
  23. I worked out like a maniac for a long time, but as I got older and my diabetes progressed more, I became rather sedentary. I do a lot around the house and yard work, but I know it doesn't equal what exercise can do for you. Today was somewhat of a long day. But it was productive so I feel good about it. Thank goodness the craves weren't really existent today. I really like days like that. As 3 months approaches, it gets easier and easier.
  24. Marti, yoga and pilates has been suggested because of the stress aerobics puts on the system, but in the past both always frustrated me because I'm short and round, and well those positions are hard to maintain! So I typically don't do them, but I might try it again.
