  1. Wow ! THANKS!!! Didn't expect to wake up to a Thread JUST for me! You all are :yahoo:
  2. Yes. I'll join you. NOPE, not today :D
  3. Lol, thanks Joe! I made it a mission to figure that out!
  4. Congrats to you! 4 months seems forever away to me right now!!!!! :D
  5. Yup, I do...I GOT this! Decided to go with step 2 patch until I run out then use up step ones and be done with it. This is what I feel will be best for me. Again (as always) tons of good, supportive replies. Man I am soooooo BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND you guys! Today is a new day and all is well again. I have a better attitude and have been reading Allen Carrs book on my nook each night before falling asleep . And also watching Joel's videos here. All good stuff :)
  6. I uploaded all my pics from fb into photobucket and have tried repeatedly to import pic for my profile. I am seriously doing something very wrong and it is extremely frustrating! Is there ANYONE that can guide me on this???? Other members have tried t help, to no avail. It's ME, not them!
  7. Hi Morgan! So glad you found us! I joined less than two weeks ago and the folks here are a great, supportive welcoming bunch with all kinds of smober time under there belts! My husband also smokes so you aren't alone here. and when it comes right down to it , it's ALWAYS about choice. I choose not to smoke, but just for today. There is a daily NOPE pledge that helps me with that here. NOPE means Not One Puff Ever....but ever can be scary so just stick with today, it's easier! You'll find all kinds of informative reading here also. I wish you the very best and I'm sure others will be along shortly! :)
  8. No nancy, in the long run smoking is more expensive in every way. Now I'm more confused than ever. Maybe I 'll just stay on this step 2 patch until they're gone (I've had all 3 step patches at home since last time I "tried" to quit) , then finish up the 7 mg step 3 box and be done with it. Takes longer that way, I know. But this gives me time under my belt to get used to being an ex smoker. Last fall I called the 1-800-quit now line and the American cancer society sent me a workbook and free patches. Those are the patches I'm using up this time. Last time I chewed the nic gum with the patches and it was a frickin JOKE! I was probably getting double the nic than when I just smoked cigs. This is a WICKED ADDICTION. I cannot even imagine what it would be like to quit heroin. And guess what? I'm a recovering alcoholic! Been sober for many years and very grateful for it.
  9. quite possibly just going cold turkey tommorrow. Thanks for your help guys.
  10. And I'm pretty irritable. Frickin waiting and waiting on important stupid people to return my calls. Last night I went to buy more of the step one patches and they were out of the store brand ones and I was NOT about to pay the price for the name brand one, so I decided to just step down to 14 mg patch today. Anger has always been a BIG trigger for me. Glad I don't get angry much. But right now I am just P*SSED off. Can we say that word here? I don't care, I just did. Do you think maybe I should not have stepped down so soon after quitting? :help:
  11. Hi Evelyn, I'm newer here but just wanted to say I appreciate that you came back to this very special place. I need all the help I can get  I put a post up a while back saying I was so impressed with the long term quitters who still take the time out of their busy days and stop in here to support all others. I love the comaraderie(sp) here!

    too funny...

still trying to post profile pic and somehow ended up with this.
  13. Sonic, a few summers ago I did that weight loss chart thing according to lose weight. I was allowed 1400 cals. per day and also drank TONS of water. I lost 20 lbs in 3 months!!! The first few days are pretty difficult, but you soon learn to automatically make better choices in what you consume. I have kept off about 15 of those lbs, but I want to lose about another 20. Not right now though, I feel I am too new in my quit to worry about that just yet! Bakon I wish you the best in this endeavor! You got some great advice :)
  14. Nope, not one puff for me today.
  15. no nancy that photo I never put on fb! It was in my comp. though. Even I was surprised to see it pop up! Need to figure out how to put already existing pics from fb into photo bucket One more question: why does it show I'm an advanced member on here ?????

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
