  1. Can you figure out what led up to your relapse last time and do something different about it this time? I've relapsed quite a few times in the past and I'm doing things different this time. I have a whole new enlightened attitude this time around. I was a member of a different forum in the past and I think they just got tired of me relapsing and coming back. So this time I was directed here! There is much more positivity on this website as well as educational reading and videos. I wish you the best in the quit!
  2. Just for today I will not smoke not one puff.
  3. Thanks guys, but today has been rough. Had to work in assisted living which is always busy, but now I'm home and my brain says it wants a smoke, just one. WHEN will this monkey get the hell off my back?! I keep chewing on straws and sucking on rootbeer barrels and cherry tootsie pops. My teeth are going to rot out! I don't like chewing gum, it reminds me of my 6 yr nic gum addiction.
  4. nope....blah.......coughing enough without taking any puffs.
  5. Exhausted & coughing. Caught some kind of sickness from sister over last weekend. This has been the most unproductive week . And I don't even care. :lazy:
  6. :yahoo: :yahoo: Congrats Morgan, the worst is over already! Good job. :good:
  7. I worry now alot about the tar in my lungs from smoking for so many years. When I quit I coughed (and not much) for only the first two days, that was it. Anyone else cough this tiny amount with their quit?

  9. I didn't put a patch on this morning just to see if I could handle no nicotine. And I actually have not had any problem today at all! No physical cravings what so ever. I'm amazed, seems like a miracle to me.
  10. Congrats Indy, good job! I'm proud of you :D
  11. YAY! Runfree, we actually have an ozone machine! Use it for getting all smell out of our hunting clothes for deer hunting. Now why didn't I think of that?!
  12. aint no how aint no way I aint gonna smoke today.
  13. 28! Taken in my backyard :D
  14. Febreeze sounds like a good idea! Thanks indigo :) How you doing today?
  15. Out of my car???? Any simple ways? I will clean real it good once spring is here, but man, does it reek:(
  16. Happy Birthday! I wish you a wonderful day today :good3: :dance4:
  17. Maybe not healthy but cherry tootsie pops work great for me! They last longer than a stupid craving, that's for sure! Also I cut plastic coffee stirrers in half and chew the crap out of them. Just think, you'll run a whole lot better training for that marathon with better lung capacity by NOT smoking. Running and smoking just don't go together!
  18. Well....I'm still using step 2 patch. so maybe I have not completely arrived just yet.....but I'm heading in the right direction and never :) looking back, ok?!
  19. Nope. For you Dad...can't believe it's been 19 years today since the Lord took you away from us. But I know you're smiling down and happy that I finally am fulfilling my promise to you.
  20. Chasing the dream= all of the other attempts and false start I've made with my nicotine addiction Living the dream= finally stopping the chase and arriving! LOVING THIS!
  21. ," don't hope because when you hope when dealing with an addiction such as nicotine, you open the door to failure". MaryLand quitter posted those profound words to you that just JUMPED OUT AT ME. These words hold true for any addiction! I myself have had many failed attempts to quit and quit for good. But this quit has a feeling deep down in my heart and soul and and I don't know how I know but I know this is IT. I'm DONE. I want you to feel what I'm feeling. I want SO BAD for everyone here to feel what I feel....I know SO many do. Take this one day at a time right now. Whatever you think happened in january that led up to that first puff, reflect on that now and make a change/changes this time. Somethings gotta change and you have to dig deep down and find it within yourself. We can support you, but ultimately it is your choice. CHOICE...I LOVE to have the choice to be smokefree today!
  22. Keep it going, you know the drill! Congrats one your first week over, now it gets better :D

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
