  8. Jerry walks into the lingerie department at Macys and says to the sales associate, Id like a Southern Baptist bra for my wife, size 34B. With a puzzled look, the sales associate asks, A what? A Southern Baptist bra, Jerry repeats. My wife told me to ask for one. She said youd know exactly what she meant. Oh, yes, the sales associate says with a smile. Now I understand. We dont get many requests for those anymore. Most of our customers these days ask for the Catholic bra, the Salvation Army bra, or the Presbyterian bra. Confused, Jerry asks, So whats the difference? The sales associate replies, Its really quite simple. The Catholic bra supports the masses. The Salvation Army bra lifts the fallen. And the Presbyterian bra keeps them staunch and upright. Jerry thinks about it for a moment before asking, Hmmm I know Im going to regret this, but what does the Southern Baptist bra do? The sales associate smiles and replies, Ah the Southern Baptist bra makes mountains out of molehills.

  15. Congrats on four weeks down, Stew… with many more to come!!
  16. So happy for the good news, Nancy!! Hooray!! And thanks for the good reminder for us all… Ask your doctor about getting chest CTs for lung disease screening. For people over 50 with a history of heavy smoking, annual screening scans are free under most insurance plans in the US.
  17. Congrats on 2 months!! Keep it up! Vaping is so much worse than cigarettes @stzr500 Keep following the train and read all you can and you will overcome the horrible addiction like we all have!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!👍💪
  18. Thanks for chiming in on the Vape thing @Pilgrim! What you & @stzr500 have related makes a lot of sense, given the increased nicotine levels involved. The other thing that you noted is the difference in how people smoke cigs vs Vape. I had forgot about that but it's so true. They besically go around all day long taking random puffs here & there as they can. That I'm sure also makes a big difference in the addiction level. Wow! Food for thought for sure for us cig smokers!
  19. A Woo Hoo from me as well! As I've told many other quitters, the human body has a remarkable ability to heal itself if we stop smoking.
  20. My doctor recently recommended a CT scan of my lungs because of my smoking history (pack and a half a day for 40 years). I got the results today....ALL NORMAL! Hallelujah, and thanks for all the support!!

  24. Pilgrim you are so right. Food for thought I also was a cigarette smoker for over 15 years. I will never forget when I ran out of vapes and bought a pack of smokes. Took one hit and was like where is the nicotine buzz ?? Nothing I was like what the hell, couldn't get a vape pod quick enouph. Hine sight I should've figured the trouble I was going to face if I decided to give it up. Hang in there I sware and promise it does get better. Just remember box breathing, I did plenty of it. To me vape pods should be banned but Good luck fighting the industry. Hang in there you got this !!!
  25. Good Morning. NOPE!!
  26. Yo stzr500. I was a vaper too. I was a cigarette addict for 13 years, quit for about 12, and then a vape addict for the last couple of years. In Germany the standard highest dose is 20mg, which of course I was hooked on. It did feel like a much more intense nicotine addiction then traditional cigarettes, especially considering the frequency of consumption - a cig burns down after about 10 drags and is done whereas there is no limit to the vape. I, like most vapers, would suck on that thing all day. Chronic nicotine high. As I near my two month Quit, I have to agree, the withdrawals are a real trial. Even now I find myself having almost panic attack-esque symptoms which I can only associate with withdrawal. I also get genuine cravings to this day, albeit few and far between (thank god). Ultimately I'm trying to say it seems the addiction and withdrawal symptoms of vaping indeed take it to a new level. I've been through the traditional cig quit once and the vape quit now a handful of times. The vape quit does seem harder. I've only managed to keep it for two months until now. Strength and determination upon you and anyone else who reads this. NOPE!
  27. Congratulations on 2 months! @stzr500 You're so well and not long until you hit the 3 month mark!😊 It sounds very scary what you have been through. I've never vaped but now it's everywhere and especially with young people, it's very sad. I remember when it became popular here, it was considered to be much safer than cigarettes, which we now know is a massive lie! 🤐 Thank you for sharing your experience as it can help others massively! Keep up the great work!
  28. Congratulations with your 2 month!! I have no experience with vaping but I also have considered switching. Alarming messages from hospital ERs about seeing regularly vapers, frightened me.
  29. Well ... you certainly did go beyond the gates of hell exposing yourself to a 5.0% level of nicotine 😱 This is the issue I always had with vaping. People convincing themselves that vaping was safe because of the lack of chemical additives in tobacco that's in cigs. Yeah but they never talk about the availability of much higher levels of nicotine that vapers can pump into their bodies & brains. Vaping has created a whole new breed of addicts "Super Nico Addicts"! Good on you that you weaned off that crazy level of nicotine slowly in steps otherwise you likely never would have made it back to the land of non-smokers. Keep it up @stzr500! You NEVER wanna go back there again and thanks for the warning about Vape & Nico Levels!!
  30. That's excellent news!! @Nancy It must be such a relief for you!! 😀
