  6. Great work @SD2026! A third of a year smoke free! Be sure to reward the efforts to reach this point. Rewards along the way are an important way to recognize all your efforts. And, you probably didn't know this but ... at the 4 month mark YOU, SD2026; get to take a week's break from playing the counting game!! What a nice surprise eh?

Glad to see you still hanging in there @stzr500! You have a lot of emotional & physical effort invested in this quit now; even more reason to forge ahead until you bury these terrible cravings. I expect some relief is close on the horizon. Keep the faith!!

Great decision to begin again. You CAN do it. None of us who have quit are special snowflakes with special sub-human powers. We quit and then since we chose not to smoke again we did something different other than smoke going forward ... hour by hour to start then by the day, then the month. One thing I reminded myself (self-talk) in those early days/months was that I only needed to go through this "quit smoking stuff" one more time if I "just" never took another puff/smoked another cigarette no matter how much I wanted to. The wants do pass eventually. Hang on & trust the eventually. Keep your focus forward to a non-smoking future you. And you don't have to do it alone. Holler for help as needed. I believe in you.
  13. NOPE for today!
  14. Congratulations @SD2026 on 4 months smoke free!🎉 You are doing really well. Keep up the good work and onward to month 5. Treat yourself today.

Greetings everyone! Some may remember me from months ago. I'm the guy who's quit and relapsed too many times to count since boarding this train over a year ago. Well, I'm back after months of being hopelessly addicted and ready to break free from the chains again. Hope everyone is well and, especially those who are still in the early stages of freedom from the addiction, maintaining stalwart resolve. Until later (and kind regards)

  27. Funny video but the song I associate with my early weeks and months in quitting smoking, learning to do things differently and for the better. I would consider it my "quit song".

Hi Pilgrim - glad you are back. I, too, was a serial quitter, so I can definitely relate. My biggest suggestion is to come here and stay here. Everyone here understands exactly what you are going through. And everyone is so willing to pick you up when you are about to fall. I had folks stay with me on the SOS thread until I felt strong and confident. I was actually on a different message board that unfortunately crashed and burned and luckily the Quit Train welcomed me. So I can't go back and look at my old posts, but trust me, I was a mess! Posting helps, the good, the bad. and the ugly. My mantra was Smoking Is Not An Option...NO MATTER WHAT. It was a powerful tool for me. As was deep breathing. The strength is in you, keep pulling it up. KTQ (edit to say - your cat is beautiful!!!)

Welcome back @Pilgrim! We had actually just posted a celebratory message to you thinking you were now 3 months smoke free. In any case, I'm glad you're back for another start at finding YOUR freedom! You know the drill ... NOPE! (Not One Puff Ever). One day at a time will get you to your destination. Cat's & boxes😆
