  5. Christmas shout out to the guys I work with. Our company takes part in the Toys for Tots program every December. We had a record haul this year, filled up an entire box truck. All donations were greatly appreciated. Bear, one of our fabricators, reworked four old bicycles. Did some welding on a couple. Primed, sanded, and painted them. Chromed them out. Put new wheels and seats on them...four lucky kids in the Chattanooga area are getting a sweet bike for Christmas this year. The true spirit of Christmas isn't always found where you thought it would be.

  8. I send a thank you to all three of you!! I am also grateful to everyone that takes the time to help everyone on the board. The struggle is real and we all would suffer without each other. I can't imagine trying to do this on my own with no one to to talk to. I know our main purpose here is to quit smoking but to have a connection here that we can share our happy days or sorrows keep us on the path no matter how hard it is. I think that makes all the difference.

  14. I am completely nicotine free . Nowadays when i have an uneasy feeling or restlessness or or some cravings which i cant control . I chew black pepper instead . Believe it or not , The cravings and the anxiety goes away after chewing it . Whenever the anxiety and cravings comes again , i chew the black pepper again . It has been working for me . That way i don't have to depend on sweets or junk foods for a better feeling . Maybe it will work for you too

  19. I was sick before I quit and lost about 30 pounds, I am more than happy to say I have gained it all back. Funny how carrying around forty years of smoke weighs so much more than 30 pounds. I feel physically better now than I have in along time. K

  23. I've come around on this song. In my younger days I vowed I would never listen to it again. It was part of a Christmas program at school that I didn't even volunteer for, I was drafted. The music teacher was wound tight and fond of the saying: "NO! We'll take it from the top!" In hindsight, that lady was in charge of the Christmas show and managing to get about fifty middle school kids on the same page...she had a lot on her. Anyways...back to the music.

  24. @GusI guess you are up early and I am up late. If I remember correctly, you work at a school and now are at Christmas break. That is such a gift to the people that work in education, to have a long Christmas break, at least I always thought it would be a great job to have. I hope you and your loved ones are all well this holiday season. K

  25. Congratulations Kenzie on keeping the quit. I wouldn`t worry too much about putting on some weight in the early stages of quitting unless it is a major health concern. You can keep healthier crave snacks around for the craves and perhaps you are doing this already. keep the quit as main priority as you are doing. Best wishes and stay strong.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
