  1. Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. After being a smoker of 20 sometimes more but strangely never less puffs a day for 30+ years . I started my final quit on 1of August this year. I had been promising myself I would quit but always found a million reasons why I couldn't do it at that time "I'll do it later" was my mantra..!! So I went to my local pharmacy to join their cessation programme. We decided 12 weeks of patches and lozenges, I blew into the carbon monoxide detector and .. oh my the alarm went crazy all the red lights were crazily flashing red.. I was in shock at that wee machine, I came out with my NRT stuff and my quit date (a few days later) and immediately lit up (well I was in shock and NEEDED a puff to calm down!! Right??) As I walked home I realised that that this experience (flashing lights and alarms) had scared the bejezus outa me and I knew the longer I left it the more the chance I would find a reason not quit on that date and just be back in that cycle of buy a pack, promise this is last pack then say ocht next time... buy pack, promise this is last pack then say ocht next time..!!! That was the day I went cold turkey and here I still am. Geez it's been a right roller coaster ride at times but things have really leveled out for me now and I am holding a really strong quit working on making it Titanium.. I should also say I am a member of another support forum but I would like to be part of this forum too as I know I can now help others struggling on their path. I hope this will be ok with you all ?
  2. Vigilante justice? Hell yeah!
  3. NOPE - Day 6 now and tomorrow night will be my 1 week. This time its seems so much better than my last attempt a quitting!
  4. Not the Stihl. I'm in. Besides, I could use a break from protecting arctic turf. A$$hole criminals. Sorry this happened, Bat. I hope they find them.

  9. We are pretty lucky. We solve a lot. Some get everything back. Some get screwed too. I love getting confessions from them. You have to give them an "out" and then they admit to it all. Not their fault because.....and they will sing. People are dishonest about everything from their age to their taxes to their tipping waitress, but nobody likes to admit it without an excuse to why...lost job, got hooked on pills then went to heroin, but nobody sits down at the table and says "yeah I am a dirt ball thief". Once they write it all down I tell them "thanks for cooperation" and that statement is like the rope in the court room. Lawyer will say " what do you got? ". Written confession. Case closed.

  14. NOPE! Rather jump out the window!
  15. The Chicks are not handling the losing streak very well.
  16. Right now because of the holidays, the thieves are working extra hard. The rest of us are buying stuff, working more hours, preparing for the holidays etc. So, according to Murphy's law, some son of a bitch needs to ruin it. Where i work, not a day goes by during the holidays when someone isn't trying to walk out with stuff. Did other units get hit? Also, not sure if this matters now but was a police report filed? Not that the police can really recover stolen goods but the insurance may need the report. All that aside, it just sucks cause one cannot have much of anything cause some klepto thinks it is theirs to steal. The world hates a thief. It is why my neighbor has three Cane Corsos running around her property. Big mean ugly sons of bitch dogs. Wouldn't you just LOVE to been able though to walk in while the thieves were at work, pull your "protective piece", and be like, "Alright now what the f*** you doing...?" just to watch them crap their pants and beg you not to call the PD? Smoking? I am guessing we are talking NOT Benson and Hedges but instead Smith and Wesson?
  17. The chicks will rise up again !!!!
  18. Great godfree another islander. Want to talk about cats or princesses weddings?
  19. Canada has maple syrup and beer, so does 7-11 store. Those people are so thick up there "Eh". Don't get off the boat in Canada. That kind of stupid can rub off.
  20. That happened to me when I was in Las Vegas back in August this year All kinds of people smoking and I just felt sorry for them because they were still slaves to their addiction and I wasn't feeling like smoking at all in fact, it repulsed me to think about smoking again. That was the first time I had been exposed to a lot of smokers since my quit. That is when I truly realized I had actually quit for good
  21. Great job Rec. Feelin' good...lookin' good.
  22. When you first start your quit you might envy those who still smoke. Then one day you realize you pity them. That's the day you quit.
  23. Ferry Cross the Mersey .............. not heard of that song?? Oh my ... kids these days ... lol.
  24. The Quit has far reaching effects, all of which are good. Always something to look forward to in life, good to be around to see it. Today's or any day's artists - They will have that effect on their respective generations. People often think the music they grew up with is somehow "best". For me, that would be the 80's. For you, 60's perhaps? I am not familiar with those bands you went to see.
  25. Oh yes ... that looks yummy. Love mushrooms & cheese Pork ribs.
  26. Used to listen to this one every Christmas Eve at the big party my father in law used to have. Those were the good 'ol times
  27. Thieves - lowest of the low. Too lazy (or drug addicted) to work for their own stuff Keep an eye on Craigslist or sites like that for your stuff. You never know. Some thieves are also stupid!
  28. 12 To me.... to you... to me.. to you..
  29. Now this is the song that starts the festive season off in our house.. been a tradition since the kids were wee
  30. Yes police came and nobody else was hit. Camera showed they made straight for my unit. Nobody else but me knew the contents or so I thought.
  31. 15 Gotta go walk the cat now :(
  32. 12 What about the "30 day - get to know you before posting here" rule?
  33. Wow, what a nice 1st post Wee Mee & welcome to our small but close and somewhat quirky family I hope you stick around and get to know us all. Congratulations on your almost 4 month quit - that's amazing Clearly you are already comfortable with your decision to have quit smoking and getting your life back. Helping others and even just communicating with others in the same position is also very helpful to us with our own quit. Look forward to seeing you around

Yes! THAT!!! Give it a try, Abby. It may just be the perfect thing. Qi Gong is the foundation for ALL of Chinese Medicine- acupuncture, herbs, Tai Chi and all the Chinese martial arts. Gentle movements but very powerful and as Doreen said, do as much or as little as you want. Any time at all spent on these movements is good.
  40. I'm sorry you guys , I didn't realize all these posts were here . Thanks for your responses, and really kind words . It's been a rough day . The good news is I am back on my quit . I appreciate the videos as well and will make it a point to watch them all .
