July 25, 201511 yr Most everyone here knows my weight loss story in short for those who dont I lost 80lbs went from 241 to 160lbs. well since the beginning of the year I am noticing the scale go up now I have at least 20 lbs to lose again to get back to 160......I have started tracking my food again my exercise is the same if not more, My diet is not perfect I falter a little but it is far from a horrible diet I eat chicken, pork, occasional beef trying to be within the proper portion sizes. I was taking a bath just soaking and looked at myself and started weeping I feel like almost throwing in the towel and saying f it, I am just gonna eat whatever I want and screw working out (I prolly wont ) but that is how defeated I am feeling right now. I usually just try to brush off these feelings and move on with life but they rear their ugly heads occasionally. Could be menopause (for both weight gain and moodiness) I should just make an appointment with my dr to check if there are other issues at play such as thyroid dysfunction otherwise I dont know. I know I am not going to be a person with washboard abs and be at 135lbs and that is okay I just want to lose what I had already lost :( Sorry for my rambling just have to let it out somewhere.
July 25, 201511 yr I know exactly what you mean. :( But I try and tell myself 'nothing's done that can't be undone.' I have been gaining and losing the same three pounds for three months. This feeling will pass- look at all the amazing things you have already accomplished!! You are a true success story already.
July 25, 201511 yr Meh. It's not linear. It's up/down/up/down/up/down <ad nauseum>. Just try to keep it in the general down direction. Sarge himself is up 13 from his early spring lows (buh-bye abs :( )... but not at all worried about it. This fall he'll reign it back in. Just don't let it get outta control, right? Set a Hard Limit and handle it before it crosses the threshold. Easy Peasy
July 25, 201511 yr Yep, same few pounds and I meet often too. I kinda think if we did it once, we can do it again. Do go an get some checks tho, to be on the safe side of course but for sure I think menopause plays a part. It's like those pounds just get more stubborn. No answers, but massive hugs to you chick. xx
July 25, 201511 yr Frez i know how you feel i lost 10 last summer and gained40 back so i have to start over big hug

Easy Peasy you are correct .....I am just going to keep plugging along ...I do have to stop procrastinating with the dr appointment cause I need to see him anyway for a check up just been forgetting to make the appointment.
July 25, 201511 yr ((frez)) not sure what to say,...glad you shared the struggle and the sad. Sounds like you you are headed toward what works for you and staying true to what you want your life to look like. Glad to be here when you are momentarily feeling defeated.... to remind you...it is momentary and your fabulousness is not dictated by your weight, but becasue you are you. Hope to get to know you more. more hugs...
July 25, 201511 yr Hey Frez 160lbs. I have a leg like that. :D You have done brilliantly. Naturally life will now throw a few things at you. That's what it does. Provides us with new challenges. Go see the Doc for sure - and then maybe change up the exercise for a while. Try some different things. You are an A1 top top person. Certainly an inspiration too me. Keep on Rockin'!
July 25, 201511 yr Lisa Carb cutting/counting might help if you aren't doing that. I have to limit mine b/c overcarb is bad for me too much glucose (high blood sugar) overworked pancreas produces too much insulin. stay way from eating poorly, like too much pasta, too much bread, too much pre-processed food is no good. Too much salt retains water as well I stay away from alcohol...once in a while have a couple of beers but rum n coke and double bloody mary days are over. I don't drink any soft drinks with sugar in them,,,sometimes some diet stuff. I noticed the other day that I lost 10 pounds. I float between 225-240. At 227 now, but need to be lower. I watch carbs closely...eat all the protein I want. I don't know if this helps...I hope you can figure it out. xoxox markus
July 26, 201511 yr In my life I've been told twice that I look like a donut. Seriously, look at my avatar. Do you see a donut?
July 26, 201511 yr Frez - hang in there ! I personally think that menopause makes the pounds harder to shift and a lot easier to gain - so I understand how you feel ! As a result I have decided that instead of focusing on the weight I am going to focus on fitness - something I know you love - so see ha in the exercise thread xx
July 26, 201511 yr You just had a major sports injury! Go easy on yourself...it takes time to heal and get back in gear. You've got it!!!
