For 1 week in the clinic

Featured Replies

I'm admitted in a mental health clinic from last Monday till upcoming Thursday. Due heavy flashbacks and relivings I got a week to stabalise. I smoked Last Sunday and didn't have a chance to let you all know I'm safe. Haven't smoked since Monday using NRT gum.
Sorry for let you worry, but I'm safe and stay the weekend home. Monday I'll go back to the clinic till Thursday. I don't care for the smoke. Use the gum, even on the clinic where they smoked I did not care. To occupied with staying grouned in the here and now.

Just wanted to let you know

Evelyn, thank you for letting us know you are being looked after.

I´m chewing nicotine gum too. It does help. And you can ditch the gum when you are ready. At the moment your priority is to get better.

Having said that, the fact that you are chewing but you ARE NOT SMOKING :good3: , should give you a massive feeling of achievement. You are doing fantastic and at least this is one area of your life where you can gain control and you are doing it. Keep it up!.

And keep posting when you have the chance.

Friday was hell but I started to stabilize yesterday, besides one panick attack and today I'm glad to say it went well. So I don't expect being released from the clinic Thursday will be a problem, tomrrow I'll go back to the clinic for a few days. I smoked but I'm sure when I think Friday and I'm now 2 days without cigarette.
But smoking or not smoking wasn't a priority, Friday I did everything to stay grounded in the here and now.
Going to watch Dr. Who and later on, I'll watch Haven on telly.

BTW let the guinea pigs run in the hallway again since Guus got rogue when we picked him up, wayyyyy to much energy lol, Boris made silly noises when I strokes his coat.

And my surrogate-mom was here this afternoon.

Yes, you have to look after yourself and stay grounded in the here and now. You know what you need to do and you are doing it. Quitting will fall into place too.

Any more pics of Guus and Boris? They sound like funny little characters, aren´t they? Nice change from all the dogs and cats :laugh2:

may god bless you in everthing youy do evelyn  glad your safe

Yesterday (Thuesday) I was released, earlier then plannen as I recovered sooner and I told my pdoc from the clinic that staying til Thursday would be a contra-indication and he knows me long enough to know I'm saying I'm ready when I am.
So back home I LOVE that there's no one nagging and yapping at me constantly lol and that I can choose what to watch on telly.
Got my music loud and getting ready to go to therapy. And hurray for me as I was early to prevent my self from harming myself so that's a good thing. Got that compliment from the pdoc too yesterday

Sounds like you are doing alot better, happy to hear this, look after yourself x
