Once Upon A Time there was a wise Eagle who did not like the way the Jackals were running the kingdom and so he flew far and he flew wide and he found a new land to live in.

 

He built a great town for all the animals. He worked long and hard to make sure it was safe. Then he invited his friends to come to his new land and be free, all he asked was they help each other and respect each other and he took care of everything else.

 

Many years later new animals were still coming to his haven. In this new land anniversaries of freedom were celebrated with big parties and members of the community would take on the role to remind everyone when it was time to celebrate and for who.  There were lots of celebrations. After a while the old Pig took over the job of hosting the parties and he threw a great party. Everyone loved the old Pig because he was always right and remembered everyone... but the Pig was old, and the Pig was tired and one day the Pig decided to past the mighty ledger to the Kangaroo... sure she lived upside down, sure she was a bit crazy but all she had to do was follow the ledger.

 

Eventually the time came for the Eagle to have his anniversary party and the crazy Kangaroo organised for a special guest to host the party. Everything was fine. Until the horny Toad spoke up and said "Kangaroo dear, today is the 11th and Eagle had his anniversary on the 7th... I checked his profile".... and Kangaroo panicked, and hopped around like a lunatic because the ledger said 17.... and there was much talking between Toad and Pig and Kangaroo.. and Kangaroo did not listen to the horny Toad and waited even longer.

 

So on the 17th all the animals gathered for a huge part to celebrate for Eagle... but alas they were 10 days late. Poor, mighty, wise Eagle who had given so much for all the animals had his anniversary on the 7th and because Kangaroo is a crazy lunatic who did not listen the day was missed. The Pig, and the Toad and most especially the Kangaroo were very sad they had made such a huge mistake. The ledger was corrected and never again would the Eagle be having his party late.

 

So the moral of the story boys and girls is that the book is not always right AND if Horny Toad says something listen.... cos she is usually right.

When we first came here from QSMB it was always @reciprocity, @ QSMB it was @jillar

Others post celebrations, i doubt its that big of a deal.

but, didn't speak up so it is my fault too.

last month I was wrong celebrating Cristobal a month too early .

Yes jo, as I've told you many times, others will post a celebration if you miss one. I didn't have any of the members from 2015 and earlier when I did celebrations but it didn't matter because someone else did and would post it.

I agree, i miss a lot of those celebrations and when i saw babs yesterday and the date on MQ profile i just figured it was like july 9th for me Jo(when i passed my last quit that i blew 2 1/2 years) and you sent him the same a very nice inbox remembering the date and that i didnt need my ego stroked like everyone else. Jillar, Sazerac babs doreen reci or someone will pick it up i'm sure, great quit community on the train

@johnny5 and Eeyore did Celebrations before me and Johnny still did the ones that I missed so moral of the story is don't try to handle it all by yourself and don't take missing one so hard. It happens...……..

We gave him a fabulous party....

We are all grateful for the wonderful job you do here....and the laughs along the way....

That's kind of an invitation to do exactly that Boo .... you sure you don't secretly miss mine and Jillar's babes? ....  besides it was fun playing hide the thread too.... discovered all these wonderful old posts to bring back to life.

Same here.  I used to post gifs all the time.  Then one day, they just stopped working.

 

I had some severe gif withdrawals as I had become gif dependent.

kind of takes away part of the "funny"  waaaaaa!

I had to download firefox in order to get animated gifs to work from my computer. Firefox does it no problem but Microsoft edge doesn't......

copy image location and paste here... firefox is a great browser i use it... copy image is just for a photo

I only use Firefox for posting images and gifs here and I love it for that. Super easy with it. I hated Google Chrome too, took up too much memory always updating ?

I have firefox explorer edge and chrome, set one as default and use which one is the fastest for you. With firefox goto the top right (3 lines) click it make sure your tracking protection is ON and also i rec the add on (adblock plus) Esp on youtube no more annoying ads
