Two of the strangest things,

worth mentioning:

• I actually lost 1lbs during the holidays and am now officially below my initial quit smoking weight of 493 days ago (total loss of 22 lbs)

• Tomorrow I will start running. For the first time, ehm.. ever.

I dont miss smoking one bit. These days, my mind often wanders .. last year around this time I felt like utter sh♡t. I had a lot going on and wanted it all to be over, fast forward to the summer of the next year. Ha, none of that! Just right through, breath, let go, hold on, whenever everything around you seems to fall apart, the one thing to hold dear is this toddler quit... and hell, did it work or what?!

Looking forward to the 22nd of february: buying a brand new piano of my savings. A little bit later than planned, unexpected malfunctioning dryer and fridge got in the way...  but hey, I had the money at hand for that, instead of an empty wallet and breathless chainsmoking anxiety!!

Smokefree life is seriously great. :)

😊

All of us,

Each in our own individual voices,

Are encouraging total strangers.

This is the beauty of QTrain.

MLMR  you have evolved in so many beautiful ways.  It is wonderful to see you at such a happy place in your life.

I am working on that intermittent fasting.  I have quite a few quit pounds to work on.  It is going pretty good.

Have a wonderful New Year!

Nice! How does it work out for you? For me, some days are easy but today for instance, all I can think of is oliebollen and appelflappen, and pie... what do you eat on fasting days, Linda?

Messy business in the head. Good that I know  its not broken, and soon enough the gray mass will be in the right order again...

But how extremely grateful I about my decision to quit smoking. It even makes the short crisisii (?) more bearable. This is literally my best move EVER.

Take a brisk walk.  Feed yourself.  You will be stronger.

Few hours later and anxiety is slowly fading. Life and I will be alright.

518 days - and I can hardly believe how time flies. Almost 1,5 year smokefree. :)

The day before yesterday I had a dream where I rolled tobacco with leftovers, ending up with tobacco stuff in my mouth. Gross, I could actually taste the sharp flavour. Oh well, just a dream..

And now I cant remember when I last craved smoking. Romancing is long gone and I realise its never been a romance worth crying over.

Djeez, I wish the same for every still-smoker!

Oh, M !

That is splendid news.  Thank you for sharing it with us.

I can feel your exuberance from here.  Now for some Monk or Bartok or Booker or ?

Tickle those ivories, bebe.

Wow MLMR.  What a beautiful gift.   How exciting to learn to play.  It is like starting another journey.  We all knew you were quite talented and had a gift to write.  I am sure you will be just as talented at music!  Have fun with your new present.

Thanks ladies and gent! Yeah, nice gift and looking forward to start playing again. @Linda Thomas I took lessons for 7 years, so Im not completely new to this. But... its such a long time ago and I think I will have to pick up regular studying again. :)

@Sazerac most likely Bartok 😊

Excellent choice.  I love Bella so much.

He brings me through a myriad of emotions and was the first/only composer that brought tears of sorrow and tears of joy to me with his music.

Shoot - smokey thoughts creeping up.

Corona turmoil, many stressed out people, lack of hugs, full IC's, Corona dominated news, people challenged to turn their lives upside down.

I really, really need my inner Superwoman right now.

No doubt things are bad, but not a reason to do something that would make it even worse.   Sometimes these thoughts reappear for many of us,  but they're just thoughts and I know you'll beat them back as you have throughout your fabulous, insightful quit.  You are your inner superwoman and you've got this, MLMR!

Sending you a big virtual hug....
