  1. Nancy I am so very thrilled and proud of you. I cannot picture you being a smoker. Now get that champagne flowing!
  2. I put mine and hb's under the faucet. I couldn't have them around. I still wouldn't feel that about great keeping any around now. I wouldn't smoke them, but I think it would make me unnecessarily uncomfortable.
  3. http://paranormaleye.blogspot.com/2010/01/raging-spirit-true-story-of-spiritual.html You won't find a lot about this online...it was on paranormal witness though...the people have lived through things that would have sent me packing day one.
  4. Bad storms here too. Perfect weather for reading a book!
  5. JLP so well done ! Congrats! I am bad with dates too, but 11 month of freedom, that is so great.
  6. Probably busy with that gorgeous fam. Maybe he is on a luxury vacation?
  7. Babs, I really hadn't! Heard my hb complaining that some girl at worked played it all the time, but that's it. I can't keep up with what's hip these days. ;-) "Happy" 4th!
  8. My gosh you guys!! Everyone is doing so great! And big tobacco said it's darn near impossible to quit. They want everyone to keep lining the pockets of fat cats. It can be done and you guys are living proof :)
  9. Gabby I am so happy to see you in such good spirits. Getting free of addiction is a big deal, and something you should be pleased about. :) Might not be easy every second of the day, but it's sooo worth it.
  10. That's right, it feels good to be a gangsta. You are too funny Jenny! I actually never heard that song before.

  12. Hahah I don't know how it translated 'people' to 'before.' Reminds me of when I was half blind and it seemed every auto correct was suggestive :-/ Edited to add: I forgot to mention, mid run, I almost fell off treadmill. So much for feeling like a bad azz, waltzing into new gym like I owned the place. Not my finest moment.
  13. So I joined a new gym tonight, 10 bucks a month at blue moon. They have tons of machines. It was fun, ran for 20 min, did that stair thingie that revolves for 15, and weights. There is 2 gyms at my office but sometimes I just don't want to constantly be around people I know.
  14. All time fave book? Face song? Do people ever call you Christopher? Fave soda? Fave ice cream?
  15. Sending you positive vibes girl!
  16. Haha Nancy. Actually no, one of my fave auths JL Murray posted a link about this.
  17. You. Are. Right. There. And you don't go?
  18. Colleen, you ever been to Wahlbergers? Or however they spell it.Weren't Mark and Donnie both smokers back in the day?
  19. Something going around I think, I felt like I was gonna yack Monday and Tuesday. Hope you feel better soon! Toast always calms my stomach.
  20. Happiness is...diet mountain lightening. Great price.
  21. Wait a minute!!!! I read the whole thing wrong. 81,500 cals. Forget it then.
  22. I agree. Thinking of you Evelyn.
  23. Welcome! Please read the newbie package, it's so helpful. Remember, every single one of us have been where you are. We know exactly what you are going through, and here to help you cross over to the other side, to freedom. It took me 4 quits to get it right. Some people are lucky enough to make it stick the first time, but not me. We are here for you, congrats on what may in fact be the most important decision of your life. If you can make it a day, you can do anything! I remember when just the thought of having to go for a day without cigs had me running for my pack. I went on a business trip last year that was 2 days, and I think I stressed for 2 months before hand about how I wasn't going be able to smoke. (Closet smoker.) Life is so much better smoke free. Might not be all peaches and cream at the very beginning but the discomfort is so temporary. Half the battle is deciding to quit, now just hold on to us, we'll keep you up :)
  24. Welcome! I know I'm far from perfect, far as I'm concerned, so long as you keep fighting for yourself that is what counts. Have you read Allen Carr? I practically memorized his book when I was quitting. When I felt lonely, like I'd lost my 'friend,' I'd grab it and start reading, or head to gym and listen to it while on a cardio machine. Glad to see you and very happy you decided to take your life back! :welcome:

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
