  1. I spoke too soon. power just went out, generator on.....Grateful for the generator as it is way too cold to be without heat. Prayers for my friends and neighbors.
  2. We are supposed to get a foot of this heavy wet snow. Lots of power outages but not for me yet. Generator will kick on if it does go out. This had better melt quickly! I haven't even raked my fall leaves!

  4. It's so funny how the "side effects" of quitting smoking are from one to the next. I never really experienced being able to smell things better. Not like some describe. I must have a damaged sniffer! I would imagine like the others have said, that everything falls back into place and becomes less "extreme" after a while.
  5. Congrats my friend! We love you with or without your helmet!!
  6. I think there are noobs in our midst...Eeekkkk!

  14. Very good to have you here with us Rosie! I can promise it does get better. I've been quit for a little over 2 years and I felt like you do right now at first. In fact, your post reminds me of my first post. It's a gradual process, so gradual you don't always notice a difference week to week but trust me, the more time you put between you and that last cigarette, the better you will feel. Find something to do with yourself to keep occupied when having a weak moment. I used to take a walk, drink a cold glass of water. We are always here to talk when you need to whether it be that you are having a bad day or if you just need a distraction. The key to success is to never, ever take another puff from a cigarette. Think of nicotine as a monster and the only way to kill it is to starve it. xx

  22. There are some things only staff can comment on, such as locked threads etc. Maybe when a members blog post has been highlighted, like Nat's was, there is a setting for a filter that was put in place, in general not just for Nat's post, to avoid comments that are not appropriate? I'm not sure but MQ will know when he's here next. xx
  23. So proud and inspired by you Nat! This quit looks WONDERFUL on you. It was meant to be. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
