  2. Just keep those flip flops on to remind you of summer. I think I get SAD symptoms too. It gets so dark and cold here. I've thought of getting one of those lights to help. I dunno. Maybe I should just move.
  3. What does your husband do in the military? I feel like maybe he's in the wrong field...
  4. This is why you're my favorite. :on_the_quiet2: xoxo
  5. Well BOO, I walk after work and it's a little scary in the dark on those country roads.
  6. I hope someone has. I think about her all the time.
  7. Who inspires you?
  8. <-----------another inspiration! Love this lady! She quit smoking and now belongs to not one, but TWO gyms! Who does that?! She is the poster girl for turning her life around and I am beyond impressed.
  9. I think 18 is too young to send a kid off to war too :(
  10. <----- This lady right here is my hero. She went from a years long smoker to running her first 5k today. She has embraced this quit and changed her life forever for the better. Anyone can do what Babs has done but not everyone does. Go Babs and go everyone else who is doing the same. You are amazing!
  11. I put off quitting for so long because I thought it would be impossible to get through the day without them. It's how I managed stress. I was convinced it was a part of me, like an arm or leg. What changed was when I found this site and started reading posts from people who had quit. I found that those people had felt the same way I did, but in their quit they found that they were wrong. Smoking wasn't a part of them it was just the addiction talking. They were (gasp) actually happier since they quit! Imagine that. I had never thought of not smoking and being happy as even a remote possibility until I saw others doing it. It was a leap of faith that got me going. I had learned just enough to know that I didn't want to be a slave to nicotine any more. I wanted to experience the freedom others were having. It is SO much better, on so many levels, to be smoke free.
  12. I am beyond thrilled to see this post today! I, we, have missed you so much!! xoxoxoxoxo!!!!!

    Hey Catfish

LOL, It must be the smoking that aged me, plus I don't have bangs like that anymore. Bangs are so youthful don't you think? You on the other hand appear even younger than you were then?! Was your hair line receding then but not now? weird aging process you got going on...
  14. Love this post! So very true. I have never felt more confident or comfortable in my own skin since I quit smoking. Standing up and saying no instead of giving in has left me knowing that I can do anything!
  15. Uvula.......
  16. It's no secret I love polls and the next few weeks I get to do them lots! XX
  17. Our staff meetings are going to be even more fun now!!
  18. There is one in OTR and she has been there.... hahahaha
  19. :) Fun times.
  20. I never listened when people approached me. After I had a blood clot in my lung I stopped for cigs on the way home from the hospital. An addict is good at putting their head in the sand and ignoring the obvious. It never hurts to suggest it though. If she is already thinking about it, you could be the spark she needs.
  21. Proud of you! I hope you are able to get some rest. You're in my prayers. xx
  22. Now that would be AWESOME!
  23. I joined last weekend when MQ set up the twitter but my tweet didn't go as expected. I have no idea how it works! I need a tutorial!
  24. This is so true. The best part is that laughter is contagious so not only do you make your day better, but you help someone else as well. xx LOVE THIS POST BABBLES!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
