I suffer from an anxiety disorder on a good day, so you can imagine that it’s worse for me, since the virus. None of us has faced anything like this, in our lifetimes, so any of us with brains are scared, and rightfully so. I wish there weren’t so many people who aren’t taking it seriously, and therefore not bothering to get vaccinated. My fear is that we will never reach the necessary threshold to achieve herd immunity, because of these people. If I had to guess, we are all going to need to get vaccinated yearly, like we do for the flu. The Government is already talking booster shots, perhaps as early as this coming Fall. This is big time scary stuff and I feel sorry for the friends and family of those who refuse to see the urgency of the situation. I spent my life in the healthcare field, and I thank God I retired well before having to be on the front lines, during those awful early days. Having said that, I did volunteer to come out of retirement when our Governor asked. Thankfully, they never called me for duty.

You cannot rely on one person to keep your quit! Do not give anyone that much power over your life! That may sound dramatic, but this is life or death we are talking about. Instead, rely on your own strength, and the many here who have taken the time to come to your aid, when you needed help.

Well, that’s good news! Now, leave them there! Let them be your security blanket, for as long as you need, then toss them. In the meantime keep your 4 month quit, for which you’ve worked so hard. Keep busy! Exercise! Engage in a new hobby, and above all else, stick close to your family HERE!

I think I can speak for us all when I say, asking for help is not putting any of us out. It is the goal and mission of this group to help people put down cigarettes, for good. Personally, I lost a 6 year quit, probably because I did it all alone, without seeking support. Don’t give up hope! Just start all over again. We are all here for you, and don’t feel like you are wasting our time. in the least.
  18. My kids would have no part of a photo with the Easter Bunny! I didn’t force it. Photos with Santa, on the other hand, were mandatory! 😬😳😊
  19. Sticking with my regimen: 2 twenty minute brisk walks per day. Being retired, it is easy to to just become a slug. When I was smoking, I was always outside, enjoying the beautiful northern CA weather. So, making a commitment to get outside, for at least 40 minutes per day, is good for me. Yeastetday, I did one of my walks in a beautiful County park. I was amazed at the amount of people there, and …..no masks! It felt like freedom, in more ways than one.😊

  23. Put them in a drawer, if it makes you less panicky about not having access. THAT is what I did. I have access, but I choose not to smoke them. If that rationale doesn’t work for you, throw them away, as Dianne said. You have built up some real time. Just for today, don’t light up! Worry about tomorrow, we’ll….tomorrow. Keep your quit! You’ve earned it!

Hi, Linda. Just keep hanging here and calling on us for help, when you need it. I realize I have stayed very close, since joining, and posted daily. It helps talking to people who have, or are now undergoing the same struggles. So, stay close. It’s what helps me not smoke.
