  1. That is called Silver Sneakers. Our insurance does not cover that. Once I hit 65 and am on medicare, that will have Silver Sneakers. I have a year to go. This Planet Fitness is only $10. a month with no sign up fee or quit fee.
  2. That is okay Opah. Everyone found you anyhow. I did not realize you were not a new member. You must have joined before me.
  3. That is absolutely adorable. Normally community centers have lessons for the older folks. If not, it would be worth it to make a new friend that can crochet.
  4. Opah, are you talking about quitting smoking. I think you posted in the wrong area. Post in the introduction area so we all can pick up on it. We are here to help you quit. You can do this. Start reading the information here and read other posts of people quitting. We all have gone through it and come out on the other side much better for it. It is wonderful to be free of the addiction. We all would love to help you on this journey.
  5. Hi Kim. You found the right place for support. We are all ready to circle around you and help you on your journey to quit. You quit during your pregnancies to save your children's lives, well their mommy is just as important. They need you to be their for all their important moments in life. You can do this. You already showed that you can. I look forward to seeing you on the forum and helping you reach that freedom you want.
  6. Nope!
  7. Well I sure was after my day at the gym yesterday. I think I used muscles I did not know I had. Forced myself to go again today because I thought they might retract if I did not keep it up. I may need some encouragement in this department, along with the nonsmoking encouragement. I have gained 13 pounds since quitting and it is driving me crazy. I am not much of a gym person. I do like to swim and walk, when the weather is nice. The "Y" that has a pool is just too pricey. Maybe we need to start a thread "Linda, get that butt moving" You guys all seem to work miracles with me - after all, you got me to quit smoking!!!!!!!
  8. Hi C 12, it is good that you are posting. We know you truly want to quit. I think if you can just get yourself through the first week, the craves are much more manageable. Like Reciprocity said, you might try NRT or talk with your doctor. I also found it helpful to stay close to the forum and read everything you can. We are here to help guide you through this, just shout out!

  20. I hear ya. I think I have been having a lot of those craves lately. Gritting those teeth really help. Hang tough. It is so much better not smoking.

I think these guys gang up on us ladies. Notice how they always win when we are getting dinner or in bed. ?
  22. Gee Sparky, that smile looks a little shaky. You doing okay?
  23. Wow, beautiful and very impressive. Well I went to Planet Fitness Today for the first time. Kind of got the feeling I am really out of shape when most of the machines were on the lowest weight and I couldn't get them to work. I did the whole room that worked on all the different parts of the body on timed intervals. Bicycled for 30 min and walked for 30 min and then I enjoyed the rub down chair. I might be a little sore tonight but I actually feel really good mentally.
  24. Congratulations on your retirement and renewed life. Best of Luck to you!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
