  1. False...just a tree inside...a fake one at that cos the pine ones annoy the asthmatic. Tnp has a coordinated colour scheme for their Christmas tree.
  2. Here's Iggy Pop... Kinda growing on me...love the hohoho at the start...
  3. So.. was thinking of Christmas themed Covers or Original and fell into a you tube black hole....so have decided during Christmas we should shelve the usual weeklyish poll and have a Chrissy one. This week's song is White Christmas...your challenge (and it will be with some of these) is to listen to the versions of the song and vote for your favourite. Now for this vote I am excluding the best version, Bing Crosby, because it would be too easy..I have tried to find a variety of sounds in the versions...oh and @johnny5 THIS is the worst cover of any song the Gunners ever did...but I had to included it...kinda like I had to include the Billy Idol one for pure cheese value. .... So this vote isn't about what's the best....it is for those in the poll which do you prefer....might not even be because it sounds the best, might be cos ya laughed so hard ya coffee came out ya nose. Preparing this I have listened to over 30 versions of this song....many worthy, many more not...but I had to limit this to 6....if you have another version you love OR hate post it up peeps. Without further ado I give you... 1. The Drifters 2. Kate Cebrano (cos I gotta have an Aussie in the mix)... 3. Guns n Roses ... Cos if my ears had to bleed do should yours 4. Otis Redding 5. Billy Idol..pure cheese 6. Bob Marley I kid you not there were still least 10 others I wanted to post.....I'm thinking the Drifters will get it...any of the Brat Pack has a great version, then there are the girls, Ella (who has both a Bing style and a Drifters style), Doris, Vera, Reba, Dolly, Darlene, so fricken many....and the group's, Kiss doing an acapella version, Westlife, twisted sister, America, Chicago, Nkotb, chocolate factory, omg you have no fruckin idea how many...Jerry Lee Lewis....Iggy Pop (which kind of disturbed me)...Elvis.....White Christmas the gift that keeps on giving..
  4. True....wouldn't that be easiest. Tnp has their Chrissy decos up.
  5. True..but I call it a slow cooker Tnp would stand on a train for someone else.
  6. Now I'm stuck...I wanna post a hoho song but I wanna keep the prison theme...hmmmm ....are why not do a twofer My most favourite Cold Chisel song... An me daily Chrissy song....
  7. Seriously?? ... you don't nick into the shops on ya way home from the beach in your togs and a towel and barefoot? Isn't it always ok to nick to the shops with no shoes? Or ya just nickin' in the servo to pay and maybe grab a slurpee... bare foots fine, right??? Is this just an Aussie thing? Has to be OK... even Chris Hemsworth does his shopping barefoot.... Oh and if their clean no issue touching someone else's feet. I give my dad and the kid foot massages all the time, my dad because it helps his pains and my kid cos she got addicted to them as a baby because it was one of the only ways to get her to sleep... now she wants them when she is sick or emotional and I'm just a sucker. (hmmm not to @Boo ... don't create a habit in your kid you don't want to still indulge when they are a teen) TNP thinks Aussies are weirdos.
  8. True....with a book in a ball on the couch preferably. Tnp has gone to the shops (supermarket) with bare feet.
  9. True....agony Tnp would rather give a massage than get one
  10. Waiting for the kid to get outside bed to take her shopping.
  11. It's always a toss up between this one and the Pogues one @johnny5 posted for my fave.
  12. True...when the mood hits. Tnp person only eats broken bickies (cookies/biscuits) cos then all the calories have fallen out.
  13. So what's my limit? You know I've bin holdin back..was gunna wait til 1 Dec but someone opened the lid... Hook turns only exist down here in Melbourne....it's where in the middle of the city you have to turn right from the left hand lane after the light turns red.
  14. Yeah, I'm thankful for my teenager...she's pretty good as far as kids go.
  15. I did...an it was heads Malaysian...very yummy and spicy hot.

  18. Three-pete what they said. Also greatful that the ashes are back where they belong
  19. Turning a negative into a positive...love this post.
  20. There is tough love and there is kicking a dog when it's down (not saying your a dog @Vivianne, promise)...one is harsh but constructive and one is just sadistic and cruel...I think sometimes the message gets lost when the delivery is unnecessarily nasty and hurtful.. from the outside looking in sometimes the hardline advice comes across as being more about the person delivery getting a sactemonious ego boost than offering anything to help or support another. @Vivianne...you know you frucked up your quit...you had the balls to share this fact and you got straight back into a new quit. Publicly making yourself accountable shows you are serious about doing this.
  21. Happy birthday Tina
  22. Woohoo...I'm on the board.
  23. Omfg...I know this trucker.... It's the fruckin chorus
  24. Hmmmm.... So the obvious is River Man by Nick Drake... But then there is Ol' Man River....and then if ya wanna throw the net far an wide do it hits down under you get He'll Never Be An Ol' Man, River...by TISM... Reality it's nun a them...so goin with this cos it's my hometown boys.. Cos..it's a river, an there's a poster for Man from Aran on the tree and they're old.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
