Relising that there might be more than one way to push the button

This is a funnel web being milked to make antivenom.... One of me cousins was bit once, said it was the most painful thing ever. We don't get funnel webs down here in Victoria (please, nobody bother to check this fact and correct me... let me live in my current belief system that they can't cross the boarder from NSW).... we have redbacks though and they frickin hurt... although I'm pretty sure with redbacks the chicks are more venomous than the blokes.

Well the rain hasn't let up for 12 hours. Hope it's heading north. Rivers are looking a bit high but tide up so hard to judge. Rain knocked out the Ballarat fire (closest to me, but still 1.5hrs away) and it's moving so slow. Hasn't stopped at all. Better get to those drought spots up north.

Good news @Doreensfree, the Canberra fire has been downgraded. I have been listening to Canberra radio to keep an eye on things.
-
Batten down the hatches up north, wind down here has been horrendous all day. Canberra is copping it again...fires on the outskirts near the airport. Doreen's Nicky is safe where she.

Lunch!.....at my girls favourite Melbourne restertraunts but feeling a bit sad cos last time I was here I was with Doreen. So far she has had a makeup lesson and colour matching, bought some makeup, bought a denim skirt and 2 tops....got fitted for new bras 36F can't get that size on the cheap, will need a loan just for her tit slings!....not sure if it's a good or bad thing that she's comfy walking around in just a bra and her jeans while being fitted! How is operation shaft the neighbours going?

So 1.5hrs in and we have left the ground floor makeup section...now on the first floor trying on designer clothes because "lowest tag price less 80%" and I said if you can tell me how much you can try it on...so just tried on 2 cami tops both normally over $100...one now $8 and the other $6. Is a bit annoyed I won't let her get a sleeveless t that says "sex is fun"....because 14!

Wasn't mentioning the hail in Canberra incase Nicky hadn't told @Doreensfree...but she has. Vic fires got a decent soak. Think this thread should be renamed Aussie natural disaster of the day.

Making the kid a cuppa and toast before heading into town for a mummy daughter day.

We are a land of extremes.... its drought or flood, very rarely anything in between... at least that's the case for my 43 years. I hope you mob up North (including Our Doreen's Nicky) cop what we had last night... Melbourne was smashed with a 6 hour thunderstorm... yes 6 hours of thunder, may have been more but I fell asleep. Which included 2 huge down pour, my area got 38mm in 20 minutes. The suburb 3 over got 66mm in 35 mins, which is a whole month of rain in less than an hour. The wetlands looked magnificent this morning. So the wetlands near me are a breeding ground for the Bin Chickens... but they have been awol with all the smoke, not sure where they have buggered off too. Si we have a few days reprieve from the smoke but are expecting it to kick up again on the weekend.

@forestgreen ...I use my mobile but for photos I do what Jillar said. To post from you tube I click on the YouTube share arrow, then click copy then just past it....for pics from a Google search I open the pic in a new window, then I copy the address in the address bar and then I paste it.

@forestgreen .... I believe there is some wall and floor space in here to show your art.... QT has everything... if you just remember where to look. Would love to see some of your work.

Well I was coming in to say "Looking for a volunteer to go to the dunny and do a wiz for me because I really need to go but have a little kidney infection so was hoping someone else could go for me and save me the pain" BUT then I read this and now I am wonder why the hell you watched it for 35mins?????

yeah-nah...it's a NOPE.

Hi John and welcome. I'm an ADHD adult and when I went nicotine free I was a bit out there for a while but it settled down with time. Not gunna guild the lily there were days when I was so all over the place it even annoyed me, but I can honestly say noone here excluded me or ridiculed me for being quirky. I'm pretty sure at times I was too much for some but they just switched off and ignored my crazy. Use being an Aspie to help your quit, routine and habit are part of ASD so create new routines around your quit...start with the daily NOPE thread....Not One Puff Ever....where ever can mean just for today.. don't get mired down on the word ever.

Nope.... Even with a headache.

Whoohoo and congratualtions @Sslip-i-doo-dah for being two years smoke free. Well done Sslip on reaching 2 years of freedom. Hope you do something (just not enjoy a British tennis victory over the Aussies) today to celebrate this milestone.

Right now, trying to use the force to cook dinner while I sit on my arse with my feet on the proof trying to recover from public transport hell...failing at both. 40min train trip with a screaming 4yo throwing a tantrum because some random other kid wouldn't give her his toy...followed by a bus trip with 2 stinky fishermen, a dead shark (for real) and 12 drunken, yelling teens.

Being from down here, I'm a bit geographically stereo type challenged BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT..... isn't that kinda the norm for a red neck state like Tennessee?

One of the fellas at work was evacuated from the beach at Mallacoota on the Navy boat. Came in with his kids yesterday and omg huge shout out to our pussers..."best holiday ever, even better than Disneyland"...Mr 8. .."yeah that's why you have nightmares everynight and wake up crying like a ***** bit yeah the boat was awesome"...Mr 12 So the Navy staff onboard went over and above to make the best of a bad situation and give the kids as much fun as they could. So while their holiday was scary and hellish the Navy did what they could to make the last hours of it good memories. @forestgreen... Stay safe, keeping you and yours in my prayers.

Weather is helping with the Vic fires...just hope it's enough as there are still many out of control. Just wanted to point out that the vast majority of fireies fighting these fires are volunteers. The chicks n sticks of the CFA/CFS are frickin heros...the Salvos and Red Cross and Country Women's Association members keeping everyone fed, clothed and councilled...heros...and to our mates from NZ, Canada and the USA who are over here lending a hand....all these mob are heros, every day people who put their lives on hold and on the line, feeling a bit humbled.
