  2. Happy Straya Day! And finally our 2020 Australian of the Year....Mr Archie Roach
  3. Regretting my choice of hairdresser...."oops!"...oops indeed.
  4. I love the kissy sound geckos make.
  5. In a pinch if ya don't have any bug spray you can use extra hold hair spray..spiders are covered in hairs and it freezes them. Also with the funnel webs they are so easy to catch (listened to the man on Canberra radio explain how to do it) if you see one walking you just put a glass jar in front of it and it will walk straight in. Never knew they couldn't hurt dogs and cats with their venom. How weird.
  6. This is why I love the country I live in.... 174 Semi Trailers full of donated hay leaving in convoy from Victoria heading to drought and fire ravaged NSW to arrive on Australia Day....35km convoy.

  8. Not sure what they are reporting overseas but @Doreensfree the Canberra fire has flared back up. Yes they have closed the airport. I have checked the maps and your Nicky is safe where she is. If she is telling you not to worry then all is good. I'm back listening to the Canberra radio and will keep you posted. Saddly, 3 US firefighters lost their lives today when the plane they were waterbombing in crashed. Coming halfway across the world to help us to make the ultimate, that's a hero.
  9. Jo and I've been not smokin for 26 months next week. No news is good news so leaving it at that...oh wait getting a hair chop on Satdee so there's something new and I finally got glasses so the headaches have improved.
  10. Relising that there might be more than one way to push the button
  11. This is a funnel web being milked to make antivenom.... One of me cousins was bit once, said it was the most painful thing ever. We don't get funnel webs down here in Victoria (please, nobody bother to check this fact and correct me... let me live in my current belief system that they can't cross the boarder from NSW).... we have redbacks though and they frickin hurt... although I'm pretty sure with redbacks the chicks are more venomous than the blokes.
  12. Well the rain hasn't let up for 12 hours. Hope it's heading north. Rivers are looking a bit high but tide up so hard to judge. Rain knocked out the Ballarat fire (closest to me, but still 1.5hrs away) and it's moving so slow. Hasn't stopped at all. Better get to those drought spots up north.
  13. Good news @Doreensfree, the Canberra fire has been downgraded. I have been listening to Canberra radio to keep an eye on things.
  14. Batten down the hatches up north, wind down here has been horrendous all day. Canberra is copping it again...fires on the outskirts near the airport. Doreen's Nicky is safe where she.
  15. Lunch!.....at my girls favourite Melbourne restertraunts but feeling a bit sad cos last time I was here I was with Doreen. So far she has had a makeup lesson and colour matching, bought some makeup, bought a denim skirt and 2 tops....got fitted for new bras 36F can't get that size on the cheap, will need a loan just for her tit slings!....not sure if it's a good or bad thing that she's comfy walking around in just a bra and her jeans while being fitted! How is operation shaft the neighbours going?
  16. So 1.5hrs in and we have left the ground floor makeup section...now on the first floor trying on designer clothes because "lowest tag price less 80%" and I said if you can tell me how much you can try it on...so just tried on 2 cami tops both normally over $100...one now $8 and the other $6. Is a bit annoyed I won't let her get a sleeveless t that says "sex is fun"....because 14!
  17. Wasn't mentioning the hail in Canberra incase Nicky hadn't told @Doreensfree...but she has. Vic fires got a decent soak. Think this thread should be renamed Aussie natural disaster of the day.
  18. Making the kid a cuppa and toast before heading into town for a mummy daughter day.
  19. Sit in the shade at a cafe drinking awesome coffee eating ricotta and orange ice cream watching the market traffic.
  20. We have lots of Chickens down here..... Depending on what state you live in the Speedy Chicken is also known as the Bush Chicken.
  21. This is a Bin Chicken...
  22. We are a land of extremes.... its drought or flood, very rarely anything in between... at least that's the case for my 43 years. I hope you mob up North (including Our Doreen's Nicky) cop what we had last night... Melbourne was smashed with a 6 hour thunderstorm... yes 6 hours of thunder, may have been more but I fell asleep. Which included 2 huge down pour, my area got 38mm in 20 minutes. The suburb 3 over got 66mm in 35 mins, which is a whole month of rain in less than an hour. The wetlands looked magnificent this morning. So the wetlands near me are a breeding ground for the Bin Chickens... but they have been awol with all the smoke, not sure where they have buggered off too. Si we have a few days reprieve from the smoke but are expecting it to kick up again on the weekend.
  23. @forestgreen ...I use my mobile but for photos I do what Jillar said. To post from you tube I click on the YouTube share arrow, then click copy then just past it....for pics from a Google search I open the pic in a new window, then I copy the address in the address bar and then I paste it.
  24. @forestgreen .... I believe there is some wall and floor space in here to show your art.... QT has everything... if you just remember where to look. Would love to see some of your work.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
