  11. NOPE! No smoking at Doreen's Party!!
  12. It just turned midnight in Liverpool, and that means our Doreen/Ollie is 6 years smoke free!!! So proud of you, Doreen, for so many reasons. You have protected your quit through so much, and been a constant support to so many. I know that you have saved lives. I am very grateful we got to know one another so early in our quits! In addition to the wonderful work you do here, you also help us not to take ourselves too seriously...you keep us laughing as well as quitting. In other words, you are just the best!! Love you, and hope you enjoy your celebration!

  16. So happy for you, Paul! We've done a lot of celebrating together. LOL, do you remember when I kept getting your quit date wrong? I'm so proud to have been on the journey with you. Thanks for still being here and all you do. Sounds like life is great!

  18. You can do this, too. You have to decide that there are absolutely no circumstance in which it is okay to take even one puff. You reactivate the addiction each time you do. You have to truly believe there is not one positive effect from smoking, other than relieving the withdrawal symptoms that begin again within 30 minutes.

  23. Great point! Don't forger frequent snacks and juice! Blood sugar goes nuts.
  24. Cry, scream, rant, rave, curse, sing , dance, pray, walk, run, shower three times a day, punch inanimate objects, crawl under the bed, snap at loved ones, speak outloud in tongues....all of these are acceptable behaviors and I did them all. Smoking is not acceptable.
  25. I quit using Chantix and celebrated 6 years free last week. Always take Chantix with food...the only time I was nauseous was when I took it on an empty stomach. Keep in mind that the Chantix takes the edge off withdrawal symptoms, but you still have to make the commitment. Quitting can be uncomfortable, or sometimes even miserable, but it will not kill you and all symptoms are temporary. You can do this...as you have discovered the hard way, we are all one puff away from a pack a day.
