  7. Good for you :) I hope you & your husband really enjoy yourselves. A chance for you both to enjoy a big benefit of no longer smoking!! These are the things that keep us motivated during our quit. Looking forward to those benefits we can now enjoy as non smokers. It's not just about the health aspect.

  17. So, after posting up about being almost a couple of months into my quit and feeling better and better about not smoking and how not smoking was becoming easier and the attraction to smoking was becoming less, I got blind-sided by a situation that came up out of nowhere causing a huge amount of sudden stress. Well, let me tell you, while I've been dealing with the situation that came up, the urge to smoke has been surprisingly incredible this past day. I didn't give in and I'm not going to give in to the false promise that having a smoke will help me in any way. I only post this to warn others who might be relatively early in their quit to just be prepared in case something unusual crops up. It's amazing how our addicted mind immediately thinks - "gotta have a smoke to calm yourself down so you can deal with this issue". All the while I'm reminding myself that smoking won't solve my issue, won't change anything but boy oh boy, that voice in my head is really persuasive and very persistent. This too will pass but it really took me by surprise. I thought I was doing better that this and that I was further along the road to really healing.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
