  1. The train ride might be hard at times Virginia but we are all taking the same journey and, our common destination is FREEDOM! I have found it really helps to communicate with other quitters. Others can be supportive to you but only another quitter really understands exactly what you are going through
  2. That's a NOPE! from me too! Welcome Virginia Nice to see you joining us.
  3. Remember to read, read, read everything on this site you can. Look for the pinned threads at the top of the Quit Smoking Discussions page! Watch as many of the Joel videos as you can too. There's an entire library available to you here on a separate page. Education about this addiction + personal commitment + support from other quitters = success It is really very simple - just never take another puff ..... ever! This may not seem easy to do at first but once you understand and truly believe that smoking does nothing good for you, it becomes much easier. Focus on the positive things that come your way once you quit. There are all kinds of good things that start to happen the moment you stop smoking.
  4. So sorry to hear you relapsed Albert. You got through that hardest 1st month so you know that you have the ability to quit. You just need to learn from this experience and make sure you don't get complacent again after the hardest part is done. Well done on posting a message to yourself in the pre-respond to your own SOS thread. You can also post up an actual SOS message to others while you read your own message. The key here is not what happened this time but what you learn from the experience and to carry that lesson forward into this quit. You CAN do this Albert. Stick around and let us support you in this journey.
  5. Please tread carefully when it comes to the booze if you are early on in your quit. There have been more relapses related to over indulging with alcohol than I care to count.
  6. Great to see you noping OBM! That's the critical requirement to quitting for good - Not One Puff Ever
  7. Yes, that's the way to do it OBM! Read all you can in the pinned threads on the Quit Smoking Discussion Page and watch the Joel videos that cover a wide range of topics related to quitting. Education about how this addiction works and why it does nothing good for you is a key to quitting! By the way ..... welcome to our family of quitters
  8. Congratulations Ellen for getting through the toughest week of all It's a pretty bumpy ride at times but you have been busy learning those coping skills that will get you to your permanent quit! It can be pretty exhausting at times for sure but you just need to keep pushing forward. Push forward and stay with the NOPE and you'll make it!!
  9. Congratulations Jules on reaching that 1st month milestone. As you know, that one is the toughest to get through. Be sure to celebrate your achievement today! Keep up the great work
  10. To all my new 2017 friends at Quit Train I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I hope 2018 delivers good health and happiness to all of us. Take time to relax and enjoy the season with family and friends - enjoy folks!
  11. That's great Latoya You have come a long way since your decision to quit. Be sure to remember that because you have a lot invested in your quit now! Protect that investment at all costs!! I remember that first part of my quit where time seemed to almost stand still. It was annoying! As T2B said, brain dead (I called it brain fog - same thing) and seemingly a constant fighting of the urges to smoke. It IS all normal and it DOES get better the further you go into your quit, Unfortunately, it doesn't happen as quickly as we would like but, IT DOES HAPPEN for everyone who stays with NOPE. You will continue to have good days and some not so great days but, you have now developed the tools to fight for your freedom from this addiction. You ARE doing it now big time! Your Mom is 1 week smoke free tomorrow too! I'm sure you two are supporting each other a lot and we are thrilled that both of you are part of our community. I'll post something up in the celebrations thread for her tomorrow morning because she deserves a little recognition for reaching the 1 week mark. She's doin' great too
  12. No video loaded here that I can see.
  13. LOL "Durty Tike"? I guess I gotta get Wee Mee to translate that one for me?
  14. Have a Great Smoke Free Christmas & New Year T2B
  15. I have it and ..... it's for sale!! You interested?
  16. Big Congratulations on reaching your 3 year milestone RunFree! That's an amazing achievement and worthy of great celebration And, nothing says celebration like fireworks right? Ok so, needs more practice? Thanks too for sticking around and helping us newbies along the road to our own personal freedom. Now that's a gift worth giving!
  17. Happy Non-Smoking Birthday Ellen - truly something to celebrate today Oh and, NOPE for me too!!
  18. I hit my limit a while ago for using the new "load from your hard drive" feature so I now use a hosting site and link to that as JB indicated above. I tried to delete some of the content I had loaded direct from my hard drive but was unsuccessful. The only issue going that route is I have to go back in through edit and back out the http prfix that appears to the left of the meme or gif I've just posted. And yes, I agree. Posting without memes or gifs would be a little dull
  19. Two (that's 2) wins today by the Sticks. That means, chicks have to do our poopy laundry for a week now
  20. OH .............
  21. 19 No you BOO!
  22. 18 Someone has to
  23. 16

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
