  1. 5 Hey! I need my beauty sleep. Can't be hangin in here all hours of the day & night
  2. Keep fighting the Good fight against this Evil addiction Ren! You're doing great
  3. Wow! I'm in awe! 9 years smoke free is such an accomplishment. Congratulations Pattoola
  4. Well done Farmgirl! 4 months smoke free is very respectable. Keep up the good work Don't forget to reward yourself!
  5. I'm too lazy and stupid to learn new sports at this point. I don't even much care for the ones I have watched for years. I do like the Wilson's Prom beach pic though
  6. And, what the heck's going on with this Las Vegas team? They are already ahead 4-0 in game 1 of their second series? I don't even recognize many names on this team so, how do they make it this far in their 1st year?? Beginner's luck?
  7. I was just trying to get you riled up Jo - lol. I don;t even watch the North American sports much let alone the more "European" ones. Can't stand soccer because I don't understand the strategies etc and there's almost no scoring. On the other hand, I can't watch basketball either and the scoring there is almost meaningless it's so frequent. Isn't it nice that we have all this variety to choose from though? I used to watch golf too, back in the day when I played that game. Now - forget it!! Threw my clubs, bag and all in the bushes last time I played golf and drove away in my car without them. Just got pissed off with the game and have never played again
  8. WTF's a Prom? Though that was a fancy school dance where girls had to wear a fancy dress or something? And by the way, Yes! If it's played on a field outdoors and people are not wearing any real sort of protective equipment and there doesn't appear to ever be any sort of scoring happening then, it's either rugby or soccer (which is the proper word for "football?). From what I've seen, those two sports are pretty much the same anyway except in soccer they appear to be a little more calm in their treatment of other players?
  9. I didn't realize they had a whole Tee Pee & everything there at one time! Wow! When did they take that down? I'm guessing a while ago now? I remember a few years ago, Toronto Blue Jays were playing the Cleveland Indians in a first round series and a bunch of poke-nose, bone-heads in Toronto mounted a media campaign and appealed to MLB to have Cleveland wear different uniforms when they played in Toronto because their Indians logo was too offensive to Native Canadians! What? Really? It's a friggin logo. Who the "F" cares? Pretty sure Native Canadians didn't give a rat's behind I was never so embarrassed to be a Canadian as then.
  10. I don't understand any of the rules of "rugby" as it's called here so watching it is difficult because I haven't a clue what they're doing or why but ..... I would agree it is probably the most physically demanding and brutal sport out there. They are all pretty demanding on a professional level but you wouldn't catch me on a rugby field for any amount of $$ - that's for sure
  11. Oh well - Leafs are gone now so .......................... back to cheering on the Blue Jays at their baseball games. Seats there are way cheaper anyway which leaves more money for beer
  12. That's kind of the thing with these drawn out hockey playoffs. No question it's generating a hell of a lot of $$$ for everyone. The league, the teams, the venues, the cities involved but holly hell - if you went 7 games for three series back to back to back - that's gotta be punishing. It's fast paced and not for the faint of heart either in terms of hitting and what not. They should probably have best of 5 game series for the first round or two but the revenue loss would be too much so that will never happen. A single game would never fly in hockey, basketball or baseball. Any team can have a sh*t game on any given day or night. The idea is to have the prize go to the most deserving team - not one who just happened to be firing on all cylinders for 1 game.
  13. I don't know much about the Braves team but I love their Fans!!! Tomahawk-Chop is the bomb!! In today's "Politically Correct" world where everyone is walking on egg shells for fear of offending an entire race of people, they are showing us how you can still have some good natured fun!!
  14. Hi Sslip!! What the hell happened here?? 13
  15. T-Shirts are a cool idea I recommend this one next, if you can find it online? You could just have N.O.P.E. printed below the image because no one you know would be able to read what the smoke signal actually says anyway - lol.
  16. OK ... I admit it ........... I DID buy lipstick
  17. Like bne said above, these initial milestones are huge TS so celebrate them with pride! And don't look too far ahead, just a day at a time still. Besides, time is probably almost at a standstill for you right now. I know it was with me in my early quit It all works out though providing your stick with your daily NOPE.

  20. Hi Clarosa A lot of good advice already. You seem to know what you need to do now, it's just the actually doing it, which is always the hard part. Quitting is tough for most. Knowledge about this addiction and how it acts on us both mentally and physically is very important to being able to over come it. That and a determined effort on your part as well as support from others doing the same thing. When you bring all these things together, it's a winning combination
  21. I was also pretty quick to get angry about minor tings when I was in the early stages of my quit. I think it's pretty common. As others have said though, when tat happens, try to remove yourself from the situation, take some deep breaths to calm yourself then try to focus on something else that is of interest to you. This unwelcome symptom of the early quit will not stay with you forever - that's the good news and with each of these battles you do withing yourself, you will get stronger! Stick with it Novo
  22. Jo! Now that the Leafs are gone in the first round, as usual, you now need to attach your wagon to Pittsburgh Penguins! That's the team with, Cindy "Cry-Baby" Crosby as captain. You'll be entertained with plays like this .................. Or this ...................................................... He make footie dives look respectable Oh well ..... at least they don't have to worry about flooding the ice between periods with Cindy around. Plenty of water works when he's playing ............................... I better go now before Bakon logs on. He's Pitts biggest fan and I'm pretty sure he has a loaded gun
  23. Big congratulations Ras for reaching this very important milestone! You are through the hardest part now so be sure to treat yourself before you carry on and make your quit even stronger:)
  24. Lots of great advice above and see how much support you are getting in a place like this? That's also a great tool for you in your quit too Be sure to spend as much time here reading all you can about this addiction. Knowledge about this addiction and how if works will be the most important tool in helping you quit. You will still have to do some heavy lifting during your journey whether you use an NRT product or not. That's just part of the deal but the rewards you will get are well worth the effort. Stick around this place. It will be good for you to relate to other quitters.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
